Do Not Look To Wage Gains To Contribute To Inflation
3 years ago

My first thoughts are that while some areas are seeing pay increases there are others that do not see such increases, and thus those folks WILL BE HURT when inflation raises the prices that they must pay for basic things like food. And the liberal push for a higher minimum wage ignores the fact that many are simply not willing or not skilled enough to provide service worth that much. And most businesses hire people to proved some worthwhile service, and not because the people need money. That is a basic reality. Most businesses also are started with a goal of making a profit, not a goal of paying lots of people very well.

The central bank people are lying, as they are prone to do. Of course they are doing that to save their skins, because they knew all along what the outcome would be. That is also why the information about how much money is being printed is now withheld.

Of course our new president has already mandated printing another 2.3 TRILLION dollars, which when it hits will dilute the value of my assets quite a bit. The result will be that I am unhappy about all of this.

Certainly we must never underestimate what China as a nation can do! One more generation of technically literate population, and, given the majority work ethic of the population, they will surpass the rest of the developed countries in spite of whatever their government does.

Based on this, it is certainly a wise choice for our government to choose to be on good terms with both the government and the population of China.

Why Bitcoin Is Crossing $60K Again

Bitcoin value iis still puzzling to me, as to how new "coins"can be created that have any value when they are produced by "miners" cranking away solving puzzles. What material of worth does that token represent? The whole bitcoin venture has the smell of a college fraternity-boy prank.

Evidently many individuals have agreed to be part of it,but it still smells like an extended prank, subject to a rather dramatic collapse.

Wall Street Is Worried About A Bubble – Here's How To Cash In

Certaily we know that the bulls, and other aggressive buyers, will bid up prices quite separately from any increase in value. That is an entertaining part of watching the stock markets. The reality can be a bit strange, though. And I, for one, do not trust most decisions based on emotions instead of facts. So there certainly IS a bubble built on some emotions and a bit of greed, and some will profit while some will lose.

We need to keep in mind that the profit from selling arrives ONLY when there is a "buy."

Quite interesting and also very disturbing. There was a good reason for restricting gambling before and it is still applicable. But besides the moral issues and consequences there is a financial issue. Every cent of that profit from gambling is money removed from the economy, where it could have been spent on buying goods and services produced by humans working at jobs. That is the ignored problem of even legal gambling, which is that it is taking money away from other segments of the economy. But all that the city government can see is the profit they can grub away from the gambling businesses.

So it appears that the benefits overall are a bit exaggerated.
