Just How Vulnerable Is The Canadian Housing Market

Certainly you are right! I had forgotten that Canadians have one more freedom than we Americans: Canadians are free of our Federal Reserve bankers! a valuable freedom!!

Think about all of those mortgages that went way underwater during that last crash, which was primarily a realestate crash, not as big as the next crash that is surely coming. And that next one will not be nearly as much fun, as it will be caused by the combination of runaway inflation and a more devastating viruse wave leading to more closes of more areas. Those already predicting it for some time did not include the health problem part of the cause, only the financial side. So with more drivers than anticipated the crash will be rather nasty.

Thoughts For Thursday: Good Up, Bad Up And Giddy Up

There are a whole lot og folks in that bottom 75% who are not in the service or hospitality industries, and a very large number whose incomes do not rise with inflation. So really inflation does hurt a lot of folks who have no lobby interests to speak for them.

And certainly having a bit more inventory will allow a bit of cusion, exactly the opposite of that "just intime" and "lean production" mentality.

Certainly you are correct on that! The problem is that those in that 1% have no clues about the daily life of the lower 75%, and they do not seem to care, either.

Don't Get Too Comfortable: The Crash May Be Coming

With pricing and buying being based so much on emotions, these conditions are of course believable and expected. For how long is a guess. Will there be an end? Certainly. Pain and suffering as a result? Of course.

About "curtailing Pipelines", please know that the reason relates to the age and condition of line 5 and the increasing probability of a major leak. Certainly adequate instrumentation could do a rapid shutdown in the event of a leak, but given the track record of responses to leaks that happening does not seem like a reasonable assumption. Worse, the pipeline company has not made any claims that they DO have an adequate monitoring system. All that would be required would be an adequate showing of the protection system to some engineers who could understand it, not politicians, and if the system was adequate the problem would be solved. But that has not been offered, so my assumption is the system does not exist. Failing to be prepared is prepairing to fail!

Inflation is almost always permanent. And any statement that it is only temporary or "transitory" is understood to be false. Like the sun rising in the west, some things just do not happen.

AMD was always going to succeed, just not always immediately. Always a good choice there.

And as for international travel, the borders should have been closed at the verystart, instead of announcing that folks had a few weeks to bring the plague back before closing way too late. But DUMB MOVES seem to be very much the policy of our government. What would have been done if the plagyue had been found to only attack that "1% group"? The closure would have been within an hour, enforced by the AirForce.

Energy Report: Not So Funny

The really unfortunate part is that fatal errors are still usually fatal even after you realize that they were errors. The bad part is that they will not be fatal for those who chose to make those errors, but rather the lower 75% of the population. And the fed plays on....

We Can’t Control Inflation, And Yet We Believe We Can Control The Climate
3 years ago

Just wait until they get to zero carbon and the climate keeps warming because all along it has been an increase of heat energy from tthe sun. Wll some folks be upset because of all the freedoms lost for naught? What about the infltion of all the clean power prices, and all of those cold folks who froze to death? Won't some "scientists" look a bit dumb?? And then what?? It was warmer back when the dinosaurs roamed, perhaps we can learn to live without needing so much heat every winter.

NIO Stock Forecast: Nio Inc. Falls As A New Rival Emerges In The Luxury EV Sector
3 years ago

Hopefully those Deutsch Bank folks have done enough research to see that the longer term looks good despite the daily perturbances.  Daily noise is a fact but seldom indicates a trend.

And luxury EVs are one area that will probably stay healthy, especially if they avoid the computer driving fad.
