No Barron's

Date: Sunday, September 26, 2021 4:51 PM EDT

As I have not received my issue of Barron's this weekend I am not providing a share price update. Instead, here is a very small stock written up by free-lancer Mike Kashanovsky in Investor's Digest of Canada. Alkaline Fuel Cell Power Corp. (MOVE- NEO, pending in the NEO market up north, as AFCP) is making a small scale fuel cell to serve the so-far neglected residential market. The cell don't have to be recharged as it uses oxygen from the air and hydrogen from a controlled process with no combustion and little noise. The alkaline fuel cell  process is the same as was used for the Apollo space shot the to the moon. It doesn't produce any carbon dioxide or greenhouse gases. And there is no need for expensive electrodes made from precious metals. The system works when the power needed is 4 to 15 kilowatt hours. The hydrogen comes from water from green sources like solar or wind, distributed via existing gas pipelines.

Note that this is a different company than Alkaline Water. It has a pending application for listing on the US OTC market and currently trades on the Canada broker-managed NEO market as MOVE, for Powertop Hydrogen Capital Corp.

The process also produces heat energy which can be used for heating or cooling, further cutting energy use. MOVE has a strong balance sheet with no debt and about C$15 mn in cash in its treasury. Its market cap is C$55 mn. After his article appeared, the still unlisted share traded up smartly Friday at 69 loony cents-

Obviously a pre-listing recommendation is high risk.

Now I have gone and bought my Barron's and en route, I was cornered by the Lubovicher outreach site on east 58th Street so I was able to perform the Succoth ritual of shaking a palm branch while holding an etrog (citron). The New Testament wrongly suggests that Jews walk around with palm branches right before Easter. Actually they do this in the fall, celebrating the harvest.

I was very happy that I bought Barron's because it featured my favorite sector, Pharma. One thesis I liked was that innovations often have side effects, adding new uses for their new drugs to treat other diseases with similar therapies.

T. Rowe Price gave its picks, all beginning with A, including Ascendis for its hypothyroidism drug. J.P. Morgan recommended Eli Lilly and AbbVie while Flagship Pioneering, amidst private company shares like Powertop, above, also had a good word for GlaxoSmithKline. Its income recommendations included Medtronic, which I own. A pitch for AT&T and Verizon came from its tech trader who one would expect to rule out golden oldies. Do-gooder investors at Shelton Green Alpha tipped Vestas Wind Systems, VWDRY, and Taiwan Semiconductor, TSEM.
