Not only for developed countries, but far more so for those much less developed countries,"Productivity is the basis of improved living standards and lies at the heart of this economic recovery." But substitute growth for recovery. And the way that works for improving productivity is to have less expensive energy. Productivity runs on energy, as it always has. And what is happening to energy these days?? It is being made far more costly in the name of "green", and becoming a much bigger hurdle for the poorest sectors. Does anybody else see some cruelty in that? And more than a little bit of just plain evil?Even evil INTENT, not accident?
The one possible benefit of rising coal prices in China will be pushing for better efficiency in coal use. not a huge benefit, but some reduction in pollution, probably. And certainly now oil and gas prices will continue to climb. This could indeed be a "winter of discontent." Hard times for all.
It seems to me that in ths case, "transitory" inflation means "in constant trasitional increase", which is what the fed has been effecting for quite a few decades. So it is not likely that any relief will be coming unless a great deal of pressure is applied. and really I can not imagine any level of pressure that I would consider excessive, especially at this point.
Predicting the future based on the past seems to be a lot simpler than doing a bit od research on a company or fund to see why the price has been changing. There are other drivers, such as insider trading, pum-and-dump moves by outsiders, oorganization officers getting caught and busted for illegal actions, or even the China Government suddenly taking assorted actions without warning. So a bit of research seems to be a better choice from where I stand.
Certainly hacking could be a real serious threat, but that threat can be greatly reduced by requiring that all updates to the software be done by a physical connection at an authorized service location, such as the dealer's repair shop. That would be the same as the present recall system. Tedious and expensive, but quite secure.
Bad news and Good news and rather interesting news as well.
SO WHY DOESN'T THE FED SIMPLY stop buying all of thse fake shares, backed by mortgages? Just one day, POW, cold turkey and no more and then see what happens. Idle threats cause discomfort and panic, how much worse can the real thing be?? And possibly not?
And now they admit that inflation has sort of got away and grown more than intended.
