I can't see a scenario where the Republicans would support a democrat to be Speaker. That would not be tolerated by the rest of the party. But rather than try to make some concessions to the 20 fringe candidates that are holding the party hostage, maybe McCarthy should make some concessions towards the democrats to get a enough of their votes to secure the position. Giving any more power to the extremists in the GOP is a dangerous step in the wrong direction.
A recession is not a given - the jury is still out on that. Despite all the beating drums about a recession, much of the data (e.g. jobs report) that keeps coming out, seems to indicate the opposite.
Your OS count after note conversion/options/warrants is around 33 million too high. It isn’t 33m and another 33m… they are reflective 3 month and 9 month periods.

This is a great question and one that deserves a wider audience. I've often pondered this myself. On the one hand, Trump can behave like a complete idiot. He has said and done some idiotic thing. On the other hand, he is a conman who has not only pulled the wool over the eyes of millios of Americans, but have convinced them to believe in impossibilities - conpsiracy theories galore. So perhaps he's briliant. It's hard to say.
Seems to me, that a lot of divisiveness we're experiencing originates with Trump. Either divisiveness that he creates himself, or the subsequent battle that always erupts between his supporters and detractors over everything he does.
Trump will most likely lose the primary to DeSantis, and as a result, his voice will be much muted and the country can start to heal. And hopefully... in time, unite again.
Success comes from hard work, skill and a hell of a lot of luck. Why do some people "make it" while others don't? Usually it comes down to luck more than anything else.
This is pretty scary news. I agree, it's odd laying off all these workers right before the Christmas shopping season. Not only will the companies need this staff, it's downright cruel letting everyone go before the Holidays. Why not just wait until Janyary?
