Cindy is an investor and an entrepreneur with 20+ years of experience in private and public market investing, mergers & acquisitions, business operations, and product development & management.
Currently Cindy is an investor at Launchpad Venture Group, a leading angel network that supports entrepreneurs build successful companies. Cindy focuses on investment in disruptive technologies in medical, life science, and industrial sectors.
Before transitioning to venture investing, Cindy spent a decade working at Banes Group, where she held leadership roles across various domains, including M&A, corporate strategy, digital transformation, data analytics, finance, and operations. Cindy played a pivotal role in leading and initiating the company’s entry into the industrial automation market through the acquisition of Gimatic. This acquisition marked the largest in the company's history at that time. She was instrumental in shaping the company's digital transformation strategy and overseeing its implementation. Cindy also spearheaded the company's first advanced data analytics project, utilizing AI/ML technology for market and customer demand forecasting.
Prior to that, Cindy was an Equity Analyst with UBS Investment Bank. She played a key role in the top-ranked U.S. Healthcare Team and Global Real Estate Team (by Institutional Investor), based in New York, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. She began her career as a Software Engineer and Product Strategist for Varian Medical Systems, where she implemented two patents with software for medical image processing and developed the most challenging product feature (split registration) for physicians to diagnose leg diseases.
Cindy holds an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, where she received the Arthur Foster Fellowship for academic excellence and leadership. She also holds an MS degree in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University and a bachelor's degree in environmental and chemical engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology (with High Honors). Cindy serves on several philanthropic Boards.
