I recall the massive leak problem that occurred in an injection storage field a while back, and while the simple theory seems reasonable, the fact is that undergound storage is always a risk, and in a geologicly unstable area like much of California, underground storage injection is FOOLHARDY.

And speculation is often a risk for fools. One more thing is that in this northen hemisphere the spring season is long past, and automn is upon us, leading to winter and the heating season.

Both very educational and ratgher disturbing.  And how would the US ever repay the neational debt??

One thing I point out is that to intentionally incurr debt knowing that one has no means of repaying that debt is criminal fraud. Ordinary folks go to jail for doing it.

Thanks for explaing the evils of our arms industries. And certainly they WILL do ANYTHING for money. This verifies tht assertion that greed is a terrible vice.  We have heard it before many times and now we see it in action again. Could I offer a soution? YES, But it would be both illegal, dangerous, and rather socially unacceptble.

A rather disturbing article. I do not like anything about the creation of crypto-currencies as alternatives. Unfortunately the actions of our central bankers over the pastlears have created a precident that allows alternative currencies with no more actual value backing them than the dollar has. The result is the setting up of the stage for a rather complete collapse of the monitary system and a plunge into chaos.

I do not see a painless was to undo the damage.

How about a ten percent tax increase on every bit of the personal wealth of all the federal reserve bankers every time the inflation rate increases one percent? Let the pain be shared equally! While inflation benefits the financial sector it damages all other forms of life by debasing the currency it must use. While those pressing for inflation are insulated from the damage they see no value in altering the course. So the solution is to make the damage easier to see and feel. Yes, I am aware that this is a radical concept, but given the track record of many years, it appears that polite conversation has not availed.

Quite a bit of insight presented here, but one part is missing, which is the even worse effect that the change to much more costly energysources is having on the nations that are developing their economies.

Consider the much increased cost of electical power to those communities that can not yet provide even electric lighting or power for the pumps to provide clean water. Consider the damage being caused there, in the name of reduced emissions and "sustainability".

Consider also that even ending greenhouse gas generation will do nothing to remove it. The only thing that removes carbon dioxide economically is forests, which are constantly being destroyed, often to provide fuel for primative lifestyles that could benefit a lot from less costly electrical power.

Quite an in-depth analysis, and a very unusual suggestion to buy. Of course, with the informatiin given, "BUY" is rather obvious.

The article explained several terms but never NGDP, which was repeated many times but never spelled out. Acronyms are mostl used to hide things,this seems to be no exception.

Then mentioning the general public's expectations. Which general public?? Whose expectations? Mine are certainly different from yours.

Interesting for certain. The biggest appearto have the most resources for research, but they are not always the champions for discovery.

And it appears that there is still room for growth. So we will continue to have winners and losers.
