Most Americans support some gun control laws. Certainly at least banning things like armor piercing bullets and automatic weaposn - no one needs those to take down a deer or safeguard a home. It makes no sense, but the radical right won't allow that and too many politicians are in the pocket of the NRA and their donations.
The right has a complicated relationship with the police. On the one hand, they claim to be the party of law enforcement. But that seems to be only when they arrest antifa and black lives matters. As soon as things don't go their way, they attack and call to defund the FBI and physically assault policemen at the Capital.
I'm pretty certain Putin has something on Trump as well. It just made no sense that Trump gave Putin a free hand to do whatever he wanted on the global stage - even if it hurt US interests. The worst was how he did not challenge Putin for paying the Taliban bounties on US soliders killed.
Enough people in the middle (both Dems and Republicans) might have supported Liz Cheney to be speaker. It doesnn't have to be an elected official. It could have been Trump - but only Matt Gaetz voted for him.
It was a mistake for McCarthy to keep running. All he did was give way to much power to the extremists in the GOP.
Here's the problem: 1. Trump claims he had no idea who Fuentes was or that he was coming. This is doubtful since people can't just approach Trump. They need to be vetted and cleared by the Secret Service. So he did know about Fuentes.
2. If somehow Trump still didn't know, what does it say about a presidential candidate who is so careless in this regard?
3. Even if somehow he didn't know about Fuentes, he certainly knew about Kanye's very recent comments and chose to meet with him any way.
4. Even if Trump didn't know about Fuentes then, he does now. And Trump has refused to condemn Fuentes' statements, or apologize for meeting with him.
