My $40 Dollar Vacation

Date: Saturday, August 5, 2023 1:46 PM EST

I just returned from a $40 vacation a few minutes ago--returning from a lakeside establishment where i ordered "fish and chips" and a couple of draft beers. Outside of an earlier-in-the-year vacation of about $80, this is all that i have spent so far on my 2023 "vacation budget" of $2000.

Now that might not seem like much of a big deal to most of my "well-to-do" followers, but just the same, it still does mean a little to me.

------

But!  I was a little disappointed with my $40 dollar expenditure.  Little did i know that the "fish" in the "fish in chips" in this lakeside eating establishment was "catfish".   When i was asked if i wanted my "fish and chips" to be catfish, i said what was my alternative.  I was told flounder, but it would cost more.

Well, chincy, chincy me--i said, oh what the hell, let my "fish and chips" be "catfish and chips".  I like "good fried catfish", maybe it will work fore me.

------

But then again.  What i did not realize was the "catfish" that represented my "fish and chips" was going to be cooked in "cajun" like peppers.

------

Now come on, folks.  Let's get real.  I am not endorsing the use of catfish for "fish and chips", but at least if you do, then let "the fried catfish" speak for themselves.

------

One thing i learned is--I have to start being more careful with my "vactaion funds".

Sorry the fish was so disappointing! But always good to try new things.
