It Is Time to Face the Music

Date: Saturday, March 2, 2024 6:41 AM EST

It is time for me to face the music.  I don't have the faintest clue what is going on in the world and the United States.  Nothing.  Nada.

-----

There are only so many times one can be wrong before you quit believing anything he says.  And i think i have gone way past that point with globanomics, world peace, impeachments, the war in Iraq, a non-political Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice John Roberts, the 2021 inaugural speech, Russia attacking Ukraine.

Hell, i have been wrong in everything.  I think the last thing i got right was the Vietnam War, which we should not have been involved in.

-----

I am sorry, folks, for wasting your time.  I think i am going to start moving away from world affairs and start working harder on my spiritual growth.  I have been re-reading Cosmos Consciousness this past week and i think i will spend more time working on that.

You will find out more about this fine book.  Here is a little background:

Cosmic Consciousness: A Study in the Evolution of the Human Mind is a 1901 book by the psychiatrist Richard Maurice Bucke, in which the author explores the concept of cosmic consciousness, which he defines as "a higher form of consciousness than that possessed by the ordinary man.

The non-ordinary man includes the likes of:  Buddha, Jesus, Mohammad, Walt Whitman, Peace Pilgrim, etc.  They all saw or experienced "the light" so to speak.  Bucke talks about how the human mind has developed over the years, pointing to the inevitability of a progression towards "cosmic consciousness".

I remember reading this book probably about twenty-years ago, but i had forgotten how much it had influenced my thought at the time.  In fact, i think Burke's concept and theory is what lead me to "exponential reality".  I cannot be sure about that, but it seems consistent with Burke.

Anyway, i will talk more about the book and some of Burke's findings and projections tomorrow as a Sunday sermon.

-----

I think that would be a better use of our time than getting hung up on my "professed, logical thinking" which has inevitably been proven wrong.

God bless the United States of America and the "el trumpo".  I think i will start hedging my bets.

Never heard of this book, but it sounds like a good one.
