Well, of course, i am disappointed that my hard work has come to no end.  I hate having to go to war and i hate the fact that we are still going to have to deal with Trumpism, but that is the way it goes.  Either (1) Rudolf Murdoch and his family are stupid; or (2) my invisible friends did not see the ramifications of not taking action now.  Either way, i am disappointed.

Now this is a follow up to yesterday's Real Good Numbers blog.  I showed the friend the table and he asked me what "market funds" meant.  Here was my response to that friend.

"That is not market funds available, but market value.  Market value tells you what the worth of a company as seen by investors.  It is the price of the stock times the number of shares.

This data is so impressive and important that it surprises me that no one has talked about it before.  The United States in effect accounts for almost half of the market value of the 2000 largest companies in the world.

With Microsoft we control essentially all business software.  With Apple we essentially control the cell phone industry.  With Google (Alphabet) we control the search mechanism.  With Amazon we control product distribution.  

Are you beginning to see the picture.  I could go on and on, but the table speaks for itself.  

Market theory says that stock price represents the price based upon all current knowledge, so it is essentially in equilibrium at any given time.  The next dollar invested has the opportunity to go to any of the 2000 companies listed at its current value.

I am attaching the complete list as an excel file.  You can see the names and values of all 2000 companies and their nation's affiliation.  I sorted the list by company "market value".

--And that is why Murdoch does not have a chance.  The U.S. is much, much, bigger than Murdoch.  I am not sure if his company is included in England's number, but i think you get the picture.  We could replace Murdoch with a company of our own, and hardly anyone would notice in terms of the big scheme of things.

Still disappointed though.
