How much are we going to miss Mr. Tucker Carlson? Not much, really. He will probably jump right to Newsmax or to some new network funded by Donald J. Trump, the person good old Tucker would praise on air and then trash when emailing friends and associates.
I have been watching Tucker on and off these past few months, using those wasted hours as a tool to measure to what degree Fox was changing their tune. I had come to the conclusion that Fox was just going to be same-o, same-o, then yesterday came.
What does Carlson's less than ceremonious exit mean in terms of Fox. Probably not much, but at least they got rid of one of their "prime ribs", which i have to say is a good thing. No one could infuriate me more with his stupid little anecdotes, which he always expressed with raised eyebrows and the most stupid look of ultra bewilderment.
What finally bit Carlson in the butt? Was it his constant Trump-like praise of Russia over Ukraine? Was it because his on air and off air statements, which were 180 degrees apart, were uncovered and a bit embarrassing to a network that claimed it was fair and balanced? Was it because he thought he had become bigger than the network itself? Or was it simply the fact that Fox does not like paying out millions of dollars in lawsuits?
Who really gives a shit? Tucker Carlson is gone for the moment! Unceremoniously gone! Even small victories for Fox should be savored these days.
Now i hope their next target is "The Five", which airs in my time zone between 5:00 and 6:00 pm. I also periodically drop in to see what the "four clowns" and the subservient democrat for the day, are saying. (i assume the lone democrat of the "five" supposedly makes the daily discussion fair and balanced in the eyes of Fox). The four Foxers are all "smaller Tuckers" (i have not even bothered to learn their names) but from what i understand they all also have their own timeslots to put out their dribble in the same condescending style that Tucker made famous.
Sometimes when you listen to these folks, you think they must be thinking that you are an idiot. Who knows, maybe they are right. I do feel somewhat like an idiot to be watching them.
I learned yesterday in my "five minutes" with the "five" that the democrats should listen to the republicans on crime because if there is one thing the republicans really know is "how to stop crime". Uh, what?
I guess if the democrats listened to the republicans on crime, they would learn how to "bury the truth of the crime", pretending it never happen. The democrats could also learn how to praise the criminals, while touting their loyalty to justice. Or even show how innocent the criminals were walking peacefully in the halls of Congress after breaking through the barriers, doors, and windows while beating policemen with the flag of the United States.
Yes, the republicans know about crime. Their leader is the biggest criminal in the history of the United States. Why wouldn't they know about crime?
I am not sure that is the democrats should be listening to the republicans or the "five". I listen to the "clowns", not so much for enjoyment, but to try and understand more about a completely different "universe" that is alien to me.

ps. I guess today is the day, President Biden is going to announce his candidacy. I can live with that, but like many others, i was hoping it would not come down to this.
,
Good riddance to Tucker. It was a great day for American when Fox finally gave him the boot. His lies lead to so many deaths from Covid, and again on January 6th.
Agreed. But I fear he'll just move to Newsmax, OANN, or start his own podcast.
I thought like you at first, but now i believe Tucker will essentially go the way of Glen Beck and O'Reilly--and drift into meaninglessness--except of course for the diehards.
Too little too late for Fox. Americans have already lost faith in them.
