The Monday Morning Blues

Date: Monday, April 17, 2023 5:12 AM EST

It's getting harder and harder to be optimistic these days.  I need to get another supply of drugs.

Negativism and pessimism is the wrong path to go, but it seems like i am getting sucked into its path.  More mass shootings with more oh-hums.  Macron to China.  Waiting for the major "spring offensive" which is now being downplayed.  Sudan.  An almost unbelievable new way to release Top Secret information.

What the heck is going on?

Somebody, please somebody, tell me some good news.  Tell me the free world is winning over authoritarianism.  Tell me that AR-15s are going to be controlled and not just simply handed out like candy at a "sweet 16 birthday party".  Tell me the Supreme Court is not going to act like a political machine for the "far right".  Tell me Macron does not speak for anyone other than France because he sure thinks he speaks for more than France.  Tell me Donald J. Trump is going to get indicted for Georgia, January 6, 2021, and obstructing justice in the mishandling of classified information.  Tell me that nature is not punishing us for what we have done to the environment.  Tell me that Fox news is going to change its ways and become respectable--at least minimally respectable.  Tell me globanomics is more than a "pipe dream".

Tell me something good and right is happening.

I am beginning to believe Obama was almost right when he said it was "hard to get anything major done anymore".  Biden would probably say the same thing since the 2022 election.  Biden got a lot of things done in his first two-years, but now again we are in stagnation mode--pretty much waiting to see how the 2024 election is going to turn out.  Why does a great country like the United States have to act so stupid half the time?

------

My undergraduate school, Hanover College (yes, the same one squeaky-clean and righteous Mike Pence attended in his undergraduate years), mentioned my book called, Globanomics, along with three other books written by other alumni in their latest alumni magazine--that should give a few of my old contemporaries a good laugh.

Just the same i take globanomics seriously if for no other reason than this, paraphrasing something i mentioned in the book, itself.  "Yes, I might sound delusional with my globanomic thoughts, but i must admit that it is sometimes nice to live in that delusional world alone and by oneself."

I really miss Linda on days like this.

I am purely a marijuana type of guy but I don't expect my next delivery until around Memorial Day.
