In truth when i came to blog this morning i was going to call the subject title--Half and Half, but when i noticed that "ten" people from Talkmarkets read my last post (up from "one" Talkmarket follower for all of my previous posts since starting blogging anew), i had to simply say i was somewhat shocked and surprised.
Anyway, here is the half and half of it all. Besides my Talkmarket followers, i also send my blog to several friends, colleagues, newspaper reporters, etc. (probably about thirty in total). It is from that group of followers that i get some of my best feedback, and based upon the feedback of those friends, colleagues, newspaper reporters--it is about half and half.
Half of my followers think i am Nuts! Crazy! That i need "to get a life" (in quotes).
The other half of my followers encourage me, support my efforts, and even offer suggestions.
Well, if it was not for the second group, i would not blog at all. I would shut down everything regarding my globanomic effort. However, even if i did not have the second group of supporters, I would not cave in to the first group because i know i am not crazy, nor do i need to get a life--i have one and a good one at that--thank you very much.
Now turning back to Putin's War and Globanomics in reference to feedback i received from my previous blog.
I think I can safely say, the general consensus of my support group (which by the way includes some with significant knowledge and experience) is that they agree that the West will win Putin's War, that is, as long as it does not drag on forever. I agree and globanomics agrees. Prolonged war is not good for the interests of the global community.
Some think the West will get tired of funding the war, especially the United States. Pooh, to that. The cost of Putin's War is a heck of a lot less than the cost of the Iraq and Afgahanistan wars were--both in terms of dollars and American treasure. I must admit, however, that most American's do not think in global terms, and being spoiled like all American's are, they worry about their own pocketbooks--and how inflation from high energy prices are cutting into their rather comfortable lifestyles.
In terms of globanomics and Putin's War, i would also like to point out that it is the United States (yes with the support of its freedom loving allies--Europe, South Korea, Japan, Australia, etc.) that is responsible for Ukraine's defense. It is U.S. dollars and U.S. weaponry that the Ukrainians are using to push back Putin. The technology of the U.S. weaponry is much superior to that of Putin's weaponry--more accurate, more likely to hit the intended target. U.S. intelligence is also superior to that of Putin's intelligence--in a number of different ways.
Regardless, the best thing for Globanomics is to end this stupid war of Putin's War as quickly as possible. I do not care what concessions are made--if any. But let's end it. It's time to push back the Russians with everything we have. It's time for Putin to go to the table with Zelenskyy and cut their deal. The longer Putin waits, the less he will get.
Putin can hope the November elections in the U.S. will turn in his favor, but that election is not a Presidential one, and Putin will not gain much even if the "sick" Republican party gains control of Congress. If Putin tries to extend the war until 2024, hoping that his good "bud" is returned to the White House, he is a fool. First of all, Ukraine will have pushed Russia completely out of its territory by 2024. Secondly, the global community will have fixed much of the energy problem caused by Putin's War by 2024. And thirdly, Trump will never hold public offfice again. In fact, Trump will be lucky if he can find a way to avoid prison.
So, all in all, go globanomics. Stand strong with Freedom. It's your winning hand
