My Weekend Wrap Up

Date: Saturday, February 3, 2024 7:25 AM EST

Like i have been saying, we are living in "very interesting" times.  Even when it seems nothing is happening, a lot of things are happening.

------

Let's start out with the American attacks on the Iranian strongholds in Syria and Iraq.  When you sit back and look at things, you cannot help but come to the conclusion that the military strength of the United States is a dominant force that no one wants to take on, including Russia, China, and Iran.

Most insiders believe that the United States is talking with China about more things than just fentanyl.  China knows, as well as Iran, that Iran has no chance against the United States.  China surely has tried to put the breaks on Iran, just as assuredly the U.S. military has.  So, i think we can safely say that Iran is not a threat in the Middle East as long as the U.S. is playing watchdog.

------

Let's talk a little about President Biden's actions dealing with Israel, Hamas, and Iran.  Biden is under fire from the Palestinian front for backing Israel.  The Palestinian front should be happy that Biden is President.  Biden does not like Netanyahu.  (And if you recall, "el Trumpo" loved Netanyahu).  Biden and his team of diplomats have done as much as possible to reign in the Israeli's, which is a pretty god damn hard thing to do when Netanyahu is still supposedly running the show.

If Biden wasn't running the show, but someone like "el Trumpo" was, all "hell would have broken out by now".  Iran would already have the shit beaten out off them.  In fact, the entire Middle East would probably be a flame by now.  Or do you really think "el Trumpo" would have sat back and done nothing after the Hamas attack on Israel--and lose his opportunity to put his top secret "U.S. - Iran attack" plan in actual motion?  Don't kid yourself.  Old "el Trumpo" would have jumped into the fray with his guns ablazing--just to show how big and important that "he" was (he rather than the country).

That is why it pays to have a long run strategy--something "el Trumpo" never heard of.

ps.  (On an unrelated matter, but something that has bugged me for a fairly long time is:  Why is Andrea Mitchell still on television?  Cannot NBC retire her before she wilts away.  I think her time could be better spent at home with her husband--someone else who received accolades for poor decision making before he retired--if in fact he is retired)

-----

Now let's talk the Ukraine, Israeli, Border Bill.  It is my understanding that the Senate is going to vote on the bill next Wednesday.  Most people believe the Senate will find enough votes to pass the bill and send it over to the House for their consideration.

Now, i am not up on voting procedures in the House, but i do believe i heard that options were available if "little twiddly-dee Johnson" decides to block the vote.  That seems logical to me, but like i said, i am not personally aware of how something like that could be done.

Just the same, despite all the whining and consternation, i believe the bill will pass both the House and Senate and then Biden will sign into law.  The bill is just too damn important not to pass right now.

The most important part of the bill is the Ukrainian funding.  We have Iran on their heals, China dead in their tracks, and with this new round of Ukrainian funding, Russia might as well shut up shop.

I could care less if we provide any more support to Israel until they straighten their own house up.

I would like to see the border problem fixed, if for no other reason than i am tired of hearing about it.  I do believe something should be done to stop the inflow, but i wonder who will build all the new houses in the United States if we make all the illegal immigrants go home.

------

In summary.  If you really step back and take a look at all the above turmoil, you can only come to a single conclusion.

The United States is as strong and mighty as it ever has been.  The United States does play the role of the "policeman for the world".  And thank god, it is the United States playing that role and not someone else (including Russia, China, Iran, and "el Trumpo").

The only other notorious villain is North Korea, but i hardly consider them a threat.  Hell, after all i do not consider Russia, Iran, and China as threats why should i consider North Korea a threat

------

World peace is coming.  You can see it being played out every day now.  We are talking about 2024 becoming a year like 1945, only correcting the mistakes made during the last year of WW II.

ps.  (I am reading a book that my stepdaughter sent for Christmas called The Accidental President.  The primary focus is on only the first four months of Truman's presidency.  If you want to read about a "man of action" in a time of turmoil, you might want to check the book out.  You will be hard put to find a period of time when we were closer to world peace than in 1945, until 2024 that is.

Biden is the man.  Let's just keep at it and finish the work.

While I usually agree with you on Trump, you are behind the times on ths one.

Trump demands loyalty above all else, and when Netanyahu did his duty and called Biden to congratulate him on his win, Trump turned against him. He now hates Bibi and blasts him every chance he gets. In fact Trump has never sent his condolences about October 7th or condemned Hamas. Rather he laid the blame on Bibi and praised their enemies.  If Trump wins again, I wouldn't see him throwing Bibi any lifelines any time soon.

If "el Trumpo" wins we will have a "World Emporer" for life.  The Middle East, China, Europe, and the rest of the world will be losers.  In fact, if "el Trumpo" wins there will be only "one winner" and that will be "el Trumpo" himself.  Everyone else will have to suffer through his stupidity and insentivity.

Probably, but he'll be in his 80's so "for life" won't be as long as you'd thing.  Of cvourse it could be the start of a ruling dynasty.  Or religious cult.

Trump In 2024 9 months ago Member's comment

Trump is the only president in recent history to not drag the US into war. So no, he wouldn't be biting at the bit to invade Iran.  BUT, since he's a wildcar and our enemies thing he's crazy enough to not only invade with everything we've got, but maybe even nuke them, it keeps our enemies at Bay.  Iran knew Obama, Biden and the rest never had the balls to do that, so acted with impunity.
