Let's Talk About Yin and Yang

Date: Monday, November 27, 2023 8:13 AM EST

I am beginning to think that we might want to rethink our concept of "yin" and "yang".

Yin-yang has taught us to believe in black and white, good and evil, short and tall, ugly and beautiful--as though they are equal and simply two sides of the same coin.  Even the yin-yang symbol sends off that perception.

-----

In truth, does it really mean that for everything that is good, there is an equal bad?

Where is the logic in that?   Oh, I forgot--enlightenment is not mathematically logical, but spherically logical.

------

But what if the truth is that there is more good than bad, more black than white, more short than tall, more beautiful than ugly.  Could that not be as truthful as having them all be exactly equal?  Or is everything just one big "Normal Curve"?

It's kind of like listening to MSNBC for "two hours" then turning to Fox for five minutes.  One tells the truth, the other points out something small going on that is supposed to negatively negate the truth.  Negativity distracts us from what is really going on in the world.  We need to start reevaluating "our self-equivalencies"!

Wake up, folks!  The Universe is Goodness in the Extreme.  Rejoice!  Praise the Lord!

------

And btw, enlightenment does not mean that you have to give up your wealth and pleasure.  One can make pleasurably love with another and that can be good.  One can drink a couple of beers without causing harm.  One can volunteer, both giving and receiving love in return.  Etc. etc. etc.

The virtues can help one deal with pleasures (e.g., temperance, strength, purity) while still staying on track.

True Enlightenment does, however, mean "do no harm".   And that is the breaking off point between "true enlightenment" and simply being "enlightened".

Harm works against the whole.

What's ironic is I think it depends on what they are covering.  Trump?  Fox News had to pay almost 1 billion for lying about him and the election.  Only left wing media told the truth. But tune in to the war in the Middle East and Fox News has very accurate reporting of democrcy vs terrorism.  While some left wing media tries to equate the two sides.  It was leaked that BBC and others refused to call Hamas terrorists.  Even the hostage trade... they make it sound like Israel is trading hostages for hostages.  They don't mention that murderers and terrorists are being traded for kids kidnapped out of crubs.

Fox might see the difference between democracy and terrorism, but i don't think it gives one shit about democracy when it comes to authoritarianism.  It is hard for me to view Fox as a "true news network" because 99% of the time they have to find some conspiracy theory to validate their statements.

And i wish you weren't so angry because being older can be good.
