It's Time to Pull the Plug

Date: Friday, June 28, 2024 9:27 AM EST

We have four months left before the election--July, August, September, and October.  That gives us plenty of time to fix things.

-----

But as much as i admire Joe Biden and appreciate what he has done for the country, i believe he needs to pass the torch now.  He can finish out his term, of course, but he needs to open up the Presidential field to the younger democrats (e.g., Michele Obama, Kamala Harris, Gavin Newsom, etc.).

It just makes political stnse.  And it will not affect President Biden's reputation and place in history, which will be outstanding.

But how many times have i heard this year from people who say "they don't like either candidate".  Usually, i just chalk that off as being a republican voter who is trying to justify his backing of "el trumpo", but i am not sure that is always the case.  Just the same, if President Biden would pass the torch, all of a sudden the democratic party might just in fact get "fucking reenergized" with a shot of "youth-ism", which could just be the ticket.

Personally, i prefer a Obama-Newsom ticket or a Newsom-Obama ticket.  Kamala is good and smart, but it is hard to match her up with either Newsom or Obama--one being from California, too, and the other being a woman, too.

Biden's Presidency has been outstanding, and the democrats can talk about that without shame.  President Biden saved the United States of America when he defeated "el trumpo" in ,2020.  That credit will all be his.  He was the stopgap.  Now lets help him out and finish what he set out to accomplish--which i believe is world peace and globanomics.

Any other approach is too risky.  In fact, no other approach makes sense to me.

Are you basing this on Biden's abysmal performance last night?  After watching that, I'd have to agree.  EXCEPT, it's too late to do that.  The Dems could have spent the last year building up Harris or some other candidate.  Given that person the limelight, while being endorsed by Biden.  But now, any candidate will not only have less name recnognition than Trump, but experience too.  They won't have time to impress the electorate.

I agree with your feelings about trumpo, but i disagree with you feelings about names like Obama and Newsom.  The American people can quickly learn about both of them.  In fact, most of them know Michelle Obama.  I like Biden best when he is at his best, but i don't think it is smart to run with the idea that the Vice-President is likely going to be the President.  Look, if i am wrong, i am sorry, but you need to know that i have as much invested in this November's outcome as anyone does.  I just want to win.  We cannot afford not to win!

Last night's debate was cringe worthy. But I'd rather have anyone in power over Trump.  He's a danger to America and democracy.  We can survive 4 years of Biden (or more likely Harris before Biden's term is up.   But we can't survive 4 more years of Trump.  And Trump isn't much older than Biden.  In 4 years Trump could be even worse.
