I want my followers to know that i have been paid "zilch" for my work. In other words, i have nothing to show from a finance, monetary standpoint since i started putting things on TalkMarkets.
Today i get a message that they were surprised by this. Bull-f------ shit. Never once have i been told that i was building shares (or if so, never once did TalkMarkets inform me that i actually owned shares and the value of those shares). If they had, i would have probably sold some of those godamn shares by now.
In all honesty i did think i was working for free and any payback would come afterwards, if there ever was an afterwards.
Yes, I have a Wharton degree, but Linda and i live off social security, which represents about two-thirds of our $45,000 yearly income and expenditures.
Look, money does not, nor will it mean all that much to me, but if i begin to think i am being swindled, i am going to be very, very disappointed.

I don't get it. Why would you be "pissed" to find out you are actually being incentivized to contribute to the site and to maybe one day get a big pay day if the site really takes off? Most sites don't give their contributors anything at all. If I were you, I'd be pleasantly surprised! Not angry.
How could you not know? It's mentioned all over their site. Their About Us page, when you submit an article, there's a section to see how much equity you've earned from the dropdown menu, etc.
I am sorry but i still cannot find how many share points i have earned to date and the value of a share. Maybe it is because i slipped on the ice and banged my head this morning and i am just not thinking straight.
Is there any way i can get TalkMarkets just to send me the information via an email? I can ask the editors, but i hate to bother them on such a trivial issue, especially since the information is so readily available.
Seems like everyone else figured it out just fine. Maybe an apology is in order? And why publicly insult the company that's giving you equity? That's a good way to devalue it for you and every other author. You probably aren't very popular with them right now!
It's probably just as well that i am not popular because i think i am going to find another outlet to express my opinion anyway. Good luck in growing your own value in TalkMarkets.
Every single time TalkMarkets publishes an author's article, you get an automated email with a link to it and a note about how you earn more equity in TalkMarkets for sharing that particular link.
Plus every time you login, there is a direct link to your equity reports which lists exactly how much equity you've earned and for which activities (see bottom center - "Equity Reports).
I received a welcome email with all this info when I first joined. You should have too. But just go to the "earning equity" section in the dropdown menu. There's also been an occasional email update about this that included general info about the company's growth. But I don't think there has been one in a while. At least not that I saw.
I thought every one knew this was a "contributor owned" site. They tout that a lot. I've seen their video commercial, and they featured the founder's video talking about this, for a long time now: talkmarkets.com/.../a-message-from-our-founder It doesn't sound like you can actually sell the shares though. Just that you'll personally benefit if/when the company gets sold or goes public.
