On my trip back to Indiana a couple of weeks ago, i discovered Beautiful Things by Benson Boone.  Then, when i came home, i watched the video and it is about as well done as one would hope for such a subject as Beautiful Things.

Yesterday, at Normandy, i saw a beautiful thing in the commemorative ceremony for the D-Day soldiers.  Biden gave a great speech, which was quickly panned by so-called Fox News (you always have to remember that Biden is senile despite the things that he keeps pulling off).

How poignant was the woman sailor who talked about "standing the watch".  I had forgotten about that and it had quite an impact on me because that is exactly what we did--we stood the watch.  For example, the Officer of the Deck (or any other watchstation) when he turned over the watch to his relief (or counterpart) would say, "Mr. so and so has the watch.", and immediately after that, Mr. so-and-so says, "I have the watch.".  

And i never ever gave that much thought before yesterday.

Standing the watch is not necessarily fun, but it is a beautiful thing.

And here we are eighty-years after D-Day.  And even though sailors and soldiers have been standing the watch all throughout this period, our nation is close to throwing those eighty-years of vigilance under the bus.

Americans (more than half) do not know "jack shit" about anything that really matters.  They are too fucking busy with their own lives to worry about others' lives.  Americans are both very selfish and very unselfish--and you almost never know which you are going to get from them.

Americans are spoiled.  They don't know anything about their Government or what it does--other than take their hard-earned monies in taxes.  

I love my country, but i hate how far it has gone astray.  We may have had our disputes, but never before did our disputes resolve around sanity vs. insanity.  We usually could agree on "major issues", such as funding for proven freedom-fighting countries like Ukraine.  But god knows anymore--even a decision like that was held up unconsciously while trying to work around the el trumpo.   And now, we have put a couple of "el trumpos" on the Intelligence Committee in Congress.  And if you don't think that is oxymoron, then you don't know what an oxymoron is.  el trumpo and intelligence simply do not correlate or go together. 

I may not have liked the "old republican party" all that much, but give me Nixon, Reagan, Bush, Bush, Romney, etc. over "el trumpo".  There is only one thing that we need to do.

Defeat el trumpism!  And not by a 49-48 margin, but by a 70-30 margin.

Next up.  Some fucking decision by the fucking Supreme Court of the United States that states that the President of the United States is not a "king" and is indictable for "legal misdeeds".   They were supposed to do that this week--which i guess, means today, but then we must remember we are talking about the Supreme Court..  

The Supreme Court--what a fucking joke.  I have to laugh every time people say that Alito should recuse himself from anything to do with January 6, 2024.  What about Clarence Thomas, too?  How can Thomas not recuse himself, too.  In fact, the way that John Roberts has managed his Court, i am beginning to wonder if there are not things in Roberts' past that might raise issues, too.  

John Roberts is a big disappointment for me.  A fellow Hoosier, he has let me down big time.  I will tell you this--"recusing oneself" is not an abnormal event.  I saw all kinds of "recusing" working for a Big Four Accounting Firm.  I saw all kinds of "recusing" while serving on the local board that resolved land disputes between neighbors.  Recusing is not a once in a lifetime event--it happens all the time--all around the fucking country.

Except one place.  The Supreme Court under the auspices of Justice John Roberts.

Finally, let me end with this--something that just makes me want to get a gun and shoot somebody (maybe myself).  It's el trumpo's statement that if he does not win the election in November 2024 that: "We won't have a country anymore.".

What?  Think about that.  If Joe Biden defeats el trumpo in November, we will not have a country anymore.  And no one will ever know where it went.  If the truth be told, based upon el trumpo's statements, we have already lost the country and the only way we can get it back is to elect him Emperor of the World.

And two years after the November 2024 election we were about to celebrate 250-years of being a democratic country.  The forefathers will be disappointed that we let Joe Biden make the country disappear.

So, for those of you who don't believe the United States can survive the way it is going, i guess your only viable option is el trumpo.  Who says so?  Who else?  El trumpo!
