America the Great--Part 1

Date: Thursday, August 18, 2022 6:26 AM EST

Let me start out by talking about a few representative Trumpers as i know them--many have been friends of mine for a very long time.  The ones that i know are not much different than you or me.  They love their country, their families, and people in general.  What they do not like comes down to one thing--the United States Government.

They don't know much if anything at all about the United States Government, but one thing for sure is this: they know they hate it.  In a real friendly conversation i was having with part of Linda's family yesterday this became absolutely apparent to me.  Most of the Trumpers that i know are from either Indiana or North Carolina.  They are not bad people--just misinformed.

I do not think there is much one can do to convince these Trumpers that the Government does some very good things, so i would never expect them to leave the republican party.  They have come to like Trump because he is the most anti-government person they know.  They love it when he talks about taking the current Government down.  They absolutely adore him for that.

Again, these are not bad people.  They are not going to fight in any civil war, but they will always fight on the anti-government side.

ps.  From my perspective the republican party has always been anti-government.  The difference today is the guy leading the charge is much, much more anti-government than the republicans before him.  It used to be the anti-republican stance was anti-government by taming its growth.  Today, the Trump sychophants want to tear the Government down.  Most of my Trumper friends actually believe more in the former than they do the latter--they just have not thought it in those terms yet.

That needs to change!  And that is why i am writing America the Great today.

America is Great!  I know it to the bottom of my soul.  And the Government of the United States has been responsible for making America Great for the last 250 or so years.  I have seen it.  I have participated in it.  The United States is the best god damn country in the world.  And i don't say that lightly, bit i am saying it because i know that it is true.

Throughout my life (primarily because i have both public and private degrees--M.P.A. and M.B.A) i have wondered which was more important to the United States--New York with Wall Street or Washington with the U.S. Government.  And I learned very early that Washington was more important than New York.

And I have learned that some activities the Government does far exceeds in value and importance to the United States as any company mentioned on Wall Street.

(1) As a junior officer for one of the U.S. fleet ballistic missile submarines--i learned very early that the United States had the best submarines.  They were the best because they had the best equipment in the world to make them the best.  U.S. submarines are stealthier than any other submarine in the world; we still have the best equipment, our missiles are better than other submarine missiles, etc. etc. etc.  The entire United States military force (Navy, Marines, Army, and Air Force) are the wonders of the world.  Our Federal Government has always made it so.  That has never changed.  And that is America the Great.  ps. I served almost 50 years ago--every time we came back (we had two crews for our one submarine) some new piece of technological equipment was brought on board that would change our capabilities tenfold--and i am sure that has not changed to this day.

(2) I have visited most of our energy national laboratories, which include Oak Ridge, Las Alamos, Lawrence Livermore, Fermi Lab, Brookhaven, etc. etc. etc..  Let me tell you some things, folks.  America has the "greatest standing science laboratories in the world" with the greatest scientists working there every fucking day--loving every minute they are living.  I saw some of them.  I talked with them.  Some were already working twenty hour days, not because they had to, but because they wanted to.  I was on the budget side of things, so they talked to me about the equipment needs--which were also for equipment that was the best in the world.

Don't listen to me.  Look outside energy.  We have the best scientists, doctors, etc. in the "health research world", too.  Even though our private sector scientists get credit for finding the vaccine for covid--it was our Federal Government's research before is what lead to the answer.

It's called "basic research" folks.  It is these guys in real life that determine what the human race can do 20 to 30 years or longer years from now.  I'll give you just a few examples.  Back in 1981 as i was leaving the Department of Energy they were talking of such things as "ion-implantation with laser annealing (e.g., planting a layer of say "titatium ion atoms" on the top one-atom surface of a softer metal.  They do this because it is the first layer of a metal that determines it's strength--the first layer, get it).  Another project i remember was being done at Brookhaven in 1981 and that was to start using "light rays" for ways to code a computer chip.  Get that one, too.  Do you know how small a light ray is.  Can you imagine the storage power of such a chip?  Get it!

That was in 1981 remember.  They always told me when i was working at the Department of Energy any application of what they were doing was still probably more than twenty-years off.  And that was true than and the things that people in that field today would say the very exact some thing.   It's Science that is going to determine our future, so we want the best.  And America has the Best!  Put up or shut up!  Show me someone who has better science going on.  You are not going to be able to.

I know, i know that some people might think that i am so United States is the Greatest biased that they will blow me off.  Well, fuck those people, i at least know what i am talking about it.  I saw it.  I was there.

ps. I am going to take pause to tell you that this blog might go on for some length and it might wander off in different directions, but since Linda has passed i simply in the mood to let it all come out.  I think i had made assumptions of some people who really did not fully understand Globanomics.  Globanomics is both a private sector and a public sector concept.

Back to our scientists now.  Here is one for you.  My four years at the Department of Energy was between 1977 - 1981.  It was the First and Only Energy Crisis the United States of America has faced.  In 1981 the United States was producing approxinately 45% of our energy needs--the rest of the 55% was coming from outside countries.  Take a second.  Think on that fact.  55% of our energy needs were being served by outside countries.  We were fucked!  We had to change that number of 45% to 100%.  How in the fuck are we going to do that?

Well, here is how it was done.  In 1981, James S. Kane, the head of the basic energy research program was starting to go around the Energy Circuit, showing the United States could get to 100%.  It came from a small "geoscience" project that fell within the basic research program.  What did this small project show that we did not know at the time?  Well, it showed that geologically we are loaded with energy that we did not know we had.  It was not oil, similar in nature though.  It could at least buy us the time that we could go 100% environmentally as the next step.  That was the thought of the time.

Well, as i said, i left the Department of Energy in 1981, but i knew Dr. James S. Kane and i always was wondering whether his information had gotten through.  But i will tell you this--although i do not have the figures to back it up now.  I could be wrong by i think i heard numbers like 100% several years ago.  Canada is loaded, too.  So Energy--screw you.  And our next step is to become 100% non-offensive.  And we are going to get there.  It takes time, but let's at least do it as fast as we can--not just for us, but for the world.

That is America the Great as i know it.  And that was just one small part of the kind of things the United States Government does.

We even had science fiction type scientists working.  Looking at Sticking Energy Satelites Into the Sky, which would result into a stronger energy source beemed to some station on earth.

Enough on science for now, i could go on and on if you get me going there.  ps. did you know that Einstein's E = mc squared is the same fucking equation that Newton had written so many years before.  One was doing it with Gravity.  The other was doing it with Light.  And if you don't believe me then i am going to ask you to answer me this one single question:  "how long does it take a light beam to go from "no speed" to "light speed".  Tell me.  How long do you think that would take.  Understand what i am saying.  I'm no scientist.  How could i see something so intuitively obvious.  Newton's Force was the same thing as Einstein's Energy.  Force and Energy are the same things.  One looks at it in terms of Gravity.  The other looks at in terms of Light.

I think i need to take a break and stop here for now.  I only want to make a blog so long, and i think a break would be good, so i am changing the title for the to America the Great--Part 1.  I am not sure how many parts there will be,  And i will always try to stay on subject, but without absolute control--if you know what i mean.

I know many Trump supporters who aren't crazy, but they like Trump and are willing to forgive all of his crimes and negative personality traits.  Or at least look the other way. I can not.  But at least I understand them better than the ones who say Trump can do no wrong and has never done no wrong. Has never told a single lie.

That every crime/lie that he was caught in is a conspiracy.  That everyone is out to get him.  That he is a saint and would never do the things he was accused of.  THOSE are the people I can not understand. They are literally crazy.
