A Couple of Comments

Date: Saturday, October 9, 2021 6:20 AM EDT

Yesterday, after a nice long walk along the beach, i came back to our rental condo and turned on one of the "preacher channels" on television to see what kind of stuff they were putting out there.

It just so happens the particular guy (clown) that was on yesterday morning started using "Do No Harm" as a reason not to take the covid vaccine.  He was praising doctors that stood up and rejected the vaccine because they did not know what was in the vaccine.  And god forbid, you would want someone to put something in their body that might "harm" them.  This particular preacher probably has a lot of constituents who smoke four packs of cigarettes a day and down a fifth of Jack Daniels at night, but won't take the vaccine because they think it might harm them.

Since one of the principles of globanomics is "do no harm", somehow we have to deal with this situation because in globanomics one would expect a rule to come out "requiring the vaccination unless for some particular medical reason."   Do we need also a "do less harm" phrasology also to include cases where "harm" is happening or going to happen?  Or can the vaccine rule pass a Federation Supreme Court test based on "do no harm"' on its own.

This is just food for thought and something i need to consider.

On the second point regarding my Chaotic Sci-Fi Future.  I am for extending aging to a point, but i think it is best to stick somewhat with the "natural aging" process.  Death is nature's way to keep things progressing along--refreshing itself with new blood and new ideas built on the foundation of knowledge that was gained before.  Globanomics requires constant refreshing of ideas.

I am just beginning to move into the final aging stage.  My legs don't quite work like they did when i was 20.  They don't even work as well as they did at 60  My eyes are slowly deteriorating, my hearing, too.  I have lost a couple of teeth recently.  And i am not sure that i would want it any other way.  I am 74 years old and hoping for another "good" fifteen years (good means healthy).  Anything more than that would be unexpected.  I would be happy to have another good fifteen years--even if I did creep along at a much slower pace.

All this talk of doctors who are refusing to take the vaccine isn't even true.  Over 96% percent of doctors were vaccinated back in June.  And that was even BEFORE it had full FDA approval.  Chances are that's much higher now.

The number of people who are actually still unvaccinated are a tiny percentage.  Most aren't even doctors, they are support staff like nursing home aids. These are people without medical degrees and we all saw first hand how poorly nursing homes faired during the pandemic.
