Yes, it's your choice, Xi--and yours alone. Diplomats all over the world will be listening to every word that is spoken between you and Vladimir tomorrow, which will go a long way in showing which of the two options--world peace or world chaos--you have chosen to follow in 2024.
-----
The world peace option is the one where you befriend the United States and support the formation of a new World Federation whose primary purpose will be to reduce "world chaos".
This is the smart decision, considering that "economically" wise the proponents for "world peace" account for about 85% of the world's economy, compared to the 15% that the "chaos countries" (i.e., Russia, you China, Iran, North Korea, and maybe Saudi Arabia). Add the so-called "Southern Group" into your camp and the spread still will be an 80% to 20%
In the current "chaotic world" that we have been living in since the end of World War II (i.e., that is 1945 for you "el Trumpers" who probably don't know when WW II ended) there is one thing that has proven time and time again. The economies of the "world peace countries" seem to fair much, much better than "chaos countries"--holding true even the "most chaotic" of times.
The "chaos route" is a loser's route.
-----
Now i know you might not agree with the above, leaving you with the "chaos option".
Okay, so let's investigate that option.
-----
But even before we begin our discussion on the "chaos option", i would like to point out that China's economy suffered greatly during the most recent chaotic event called the Pandemic, while the United States economy slowed, then picked up where it left off before the pandemic. China is still struggling, and actually, losing ground to the rest of the world and especially to the United States.
I mention this before we begin because it is just the most recent example of what i was talking about regarding your first option.
------
Okay, let's investigate the "chaos route". You no longer have an option. You have to make your decision now. Trying to postpone your decision until after 2024 does not work for you. In a "chaotic world", China's decline will become increasingly dire in 2024--ending back up "economically" like in the 1970s about the time of Nixon's visit.
Is the "el Trumpo" card worth the risk of betting on the "chaotic world"? (After all, "el Trumpo" think like the "chaotic world" people do). That's a gamble, and my advise (being somewhat attuned to the general perspective of the American populace) is not to take it. You have to make you decision now.
Okay, so there it is, Xi. Understand that in your discussions with Vladimir tomorrow, the world will interpret your decision.
Which, in turn, will determine China's fate in the near future (i.e., the next fifty years).
With wars in the Middle East and Ukraine/Russia, and with the risk that Iran and the US could get involved, I'd say we're fartrher away from peace than ever.
World peace is only as far away as your imagination can take you. China is not in a good position and it would be wise for Xi to make friends with the U.S. rather than Russia and Iran, which are both even worse off than China.
