The "infosys" organization certainly does appear to be doing well and growing. I didn't see anything about dividends, but it still does look like a good longer term investment. UNless something goes crash in the market!
Splitting to allow two different areas of focus is not a totally believable explanation, at least not from where I stand. Something else is the motivation, either more profit or a way to hide accountability for something we are not aware of. Or a way to award someone with a new CEO position and a separate board of directors.

This is an interesting demonstration of why it is vital to avoid upsetting the party generals in a police state such as China. Mister Ma is very fortunate to be as visible as he is, thus preventing him from just simply vanishing with no trace. That is an un-anticipated but very welcome benefit of extreme wealth and rcogntion. "Freedom from vanishing."
