An interesting perception there: "strong evidence of stock price manipulation " is an interesting observation, my guess is that amazingly it will not be noticed by the right parties to have anything done about it. The benefits of having highly placed friends is clarified once again. But I do tend toward the idea that all is not quite honest on Wall Street.

it goes far beyond a lack of strength. It is poor judgement and goofed up priorities, to put it politely. Afraid to upset people, putting it bluntly.

The Real Reason Robinhood Froze GME Buying – And Why It Matters

Really, the fix for the problem is quite clear: Make the deals CASH! No credit that can be walked away from, but cask in some form or the other, so that the DTCC will always be sure of getting the cash owed by buyers into the hands of the sellers. No instant credit, and no escaping by declaring bankruptcy. Make the purchases a cash-onoly deal, and do it for ALL buyers, not just those day traders. That could put some serious dampers on a lot of the nastier speculation, which wil benefit A whole lot of people.

It has become very obvious that what should have been done at the very first was to close the borders completely. But instead, not much at all was done until it was far too late for any reasonable actions to reduce the spread. So the panic driven actions were to close everything, with no regard at all for the secondary and tertiary results of those closures. Serious enforcement of using adequate masks would have been a big help. The bitter truth now is that instead of right decisions being made, wrong decisions were made on many occasions, and there is no way possible to undo tha resultant damage.

OK, now we know. This looks and smells like a case of excess confidence on the part of the guilty parties. Certainly it is easy to become impressed with one's own brilliance, and the result being missing things. But ignoring warnings and notifications does indicate an excessive ego condition.

So it was not that they gave poor advice, the failure was failing to deliver good advice.

Quite interesting about BP, and the huge tears because profits are less this year. But since they are still turning a profit I see no big failure. Only greed demands increased profit constantly.

And the CEO pronouncement of greater profits in the future is what CEOs are paid to do. If the CEO announced that profits would steadily decline for the next years they would be out on the street by noon the same day.

I had thought that share VALUE, as opposed to share PRICE, would be more closely related to the cost to earning ratio. Of course "cost" is a somewhat nebulous term as far as what it includes. But I am new to the stocks game, being a semi-retired engineer and a writer now. So a lack of insight into the stocks and Wall street is my handicap, also not being greedy. Probably I will never truly fit in. Oh Well.

The GameStop Rebels Vs. "Too Big To Fail"

Regarding the reporters comments, I point back to that rock-station played song, "Dirty Laundry", from the '70"s. The line, "We all know that Crap is King" nails it perfectly. And of course the responses of those supporting their "friends" in the hedge funds is just what would be expected. When greed runs rampant and the fed is working to support the greedy and it becomes obvious to normal folks, things do get interesting. And the lies bandied about lean toward actually offensive.

And the comparison to those who bought the Gamestop stock to the capitol mob is really evil, since every bit of the stock buying was totally within all legal channels and limits. It seems like greed is an infecting disease sometimes.
