Michael Kennedy founded AirChem and its affiliates in 2017 and serves as Chairman and CEO. For 40+ years, Michael has been CEO, CFO, and Director for numerous public and privately-owned companies in the United States, Canada, and Europe across a broad range of industries including industrial gases, energy chemicals, packaging, VLSI semiconductor manufacturing, commercial and investment banking, asset management, and media and telecommunications.
Michael has extensive operating and financial experience in the industrial gas industry having served as SVP, CFO, and Treasurer of Airgas, Inc. [NYSE:ARG]. There he developed a successful distributor acquisition program where he completed 100+ industry acquisitions and divestitures, raised $250 million in equity capital and debt financings, and completed Airgas public offering and listing on the NYSE. In addition, Michael possesses in-depth knowledge in public and private capital formations, and debt and equity securities, having completed approximately 170 mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures globally during his career.
Previously, Michael served as Chairman, CEO, and Founder of Radnor Holdings Corporation, a global chemical and packaging company as well as Director, Finance of Penn Central Corporation and Corporate Accountant of Westinghouse Electric Corporation.
Over the years, Michael has been on the Board of Directors for over 40 private and public companies globally. He has supported numerous charities, including Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Prevent Child Abuse, Foundation for Gender Equality. He also serves as the Trustee of Kennedy Family Scholarship Fund of Notre Dame University and Kennedy Family Scholarship Fund of Villanova University, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and past Honorary Chairman of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Michael earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Villanova University, MBA in Finance from St. Joseph’s University, and Juris Doctor in law degree from Widener University School of Law. Michael was a licensed member of the Federal and Pennsylvania Bar from 1988-2003.
