I am a political scientist by training, having received a B.A. and M.A. in one of the least marketable college majors known to humanity. After struggling to find a full time position in the post-2008 world of higher education, I turned to the world of trading.

What Gives Cryptocurrencies Their Value
With the exception of very small speculative positions, you really do have to be an adrenaline junkie to own a lot of Bitcoin. Technically at least, it looks like a huge bubble to me. I can only imagine that Bitcoin could possibly be supplanted in the future by a better cryptocurrency--in a similar way as Netscape Navigator was ultimately replaced by Internet Explorer then Firefox then Google Chrome. I wouldn't have the stomach to be one of the cryptocurrency guinea pigs at this point in time.
OK, So Trees Don't Grow All The Way To The Sky
I'm starting to think tax cuts might be baked into the market. It wouldn't be totally surprising to see a "sell the news" event when (and if) they pass. Seems like a short term top could be looming.
V-Tops And V-Bottoms: Natural Gas Winter Volatility Is Back
UNG is a frightening trade. If natural gas fills that gap down at $2.81, it looks like UNG could actually reach (or get close to) reaching an all time low.
Gold Tumbles Below Key Technical Support As 5Y Yields Spike To Six-Year Highs
I'm amazed at how gold has been so weak with the declining dollar. And the dollar could really go through the trap door if DXY $92.75 breaks. Not much inverse correlation between gold and the dollar this year, it seems.
Bitcoin Is Now Bigger Than Beyonce, Taylor Swift And Kim Kardashian Combined
The most disturbing Google search trend I saw was "buy Bitcoin with a credit card" and "buy Bitcoin with Paypal". Things could go horribly wrong for the FOMO crowd buying up here.
Uber Reports Massive $1.5 Billion 3Q Loss As Two Investors Drop Out Of New Financing Round
Uber has a really long list of disasters. Their scandals are like Hollywood sex scandals in that they seem to grow more and more on a frequent and consistent basis. Being in a small town, I've never used Uber, but it seems like a potential ride through hell.
Gold & Gold Stocks On Cusp Of Downside Break
The trendline broke this morning, so the miners look to be in trouble. Looks like $18ish could be in the cards for GDX.
How Should We Think About Bitcoin?
I've never bought Bitcoin, but if it corrects enough over the coming months, I will probably take a very small speculative position. It would be nice to have a "blood in the streets" moment for those who missed but are now interested in getting in. Bitcoin looks like a bubble to me, so a bursting would be the best place to take a small position.
Extremely Rare Stock Vs. Bond Set-Up
Your videos are always the most emotionally detached (in a good way) perspectives that I have found. After being bombarded by opinions and forecasts, I always find it helps to watch these each week and get the unbiased analysis of markets.
Roku Enters Rare Air As Bullish Momentum Continues
It looks like fib extensions could project this as high as $57 by mid-December. I like the risk to reward ratio here with a stop if it closes below the 9EMA.
