I'm not sure either is truly interested in peace at the moment. Putin would rather destroy Ukraine than admit defeat - a "if we can't have it, no one can mentality."
Meanwhile, Russia has bullied, threatened and picked away at Ukraine for years. Now to everyone's suprise, including Ukraine's, they are winning. Why quit now? They can take back all the land they lost, even the Crimea. While humiliating and decimating Russia's army to the point where they won't be able to be a threat again for perhaps a generation.
There simply isn't enough interest/reason to pursue peace at this moment.
This is very interesting. But every single word of this was simply copied from the two papers you cited. Do you have any incite of your own, or anything to add at all?
You don't have to be gay to get MonkeyPox. Nor are gays the only ones getting it, or even having orgies. Is the economy the fault of gays as well?
What exactly was the purpose of this article, other than to try to blame gay people, and say that the Daskalakis is not qualified, based solely on his lifestyle choices. I'm actually quite shocked and appaled by your publishing of this article.
Ridiculous. This is truly judging a book by its cover. Did you know Daskalakis also has a medical degree from Harvard. He's more than qualified for the position.
And with MonkeyPox making dangerous inrounds with the LGBTQ+ community, his close ties to that very community makes him a natural choice.
Is there a link to Will's appearance? It's a shame to hear this. I've always used to read his column and was a fan, but haven't followed him in many years. I'm not surprised he's not a MAGA republican - he's far too intelligent for that. But I've been disappointed at how many from the GOP (both current and former members) have remained silent on Trump's actions.
Very interesting. But I think Ukraine's interest in NATO was just an excuse for Putin to invade. Not much had changed in that regard, but Putin has been stealing bits of Ukraine for decades. And his invasion caused NATO to become stronger with new countries applying for inclusion, and the US redoubling its commitment (after years of Trump mocking and threatening to leave NATO.
Not sure if I'm one of your "17 followers" but I've never worked in government. I have an MBA, am in my late 40's, and consider myself of above average intellgence, though I don't think that means as much as it used to. I don't like social media - I think it's destroyed proper communication and destroyed relationships. I never served, though I would have been proud to. I am interested in politics but never worked in government. I am not particulaly interested in globanomics. Perhaps I would be if I took the time to understand it better.
I occassionally read your blogs since they frequently pop-up on the homepage and I often find the headlines curious. You never knwo what you are going to get. Could be a 3-line muse. Could be a long winded rant, could be a deep and thought provoking piece. It's like, as Forest Gump would say, like a box of chocolates.
