I once spent thousands to have a presence at a Trade Show for my startup. Bought a nice banner, had a nice giveaway, just like you suggested. The problem is, my thousands paled in comparison to the hundreds of thousands the bigger companies spent for their super fancy booths and giveaways. It left me down right embarrassed.
Every company has spin. That's the job of a good CEO/PR company. Personally I think #Musk and #Tesla are going to achieve great things. The man is a visionary. Sure, the company has it's share of challenges... what company wouldn't when trying to achieve greatness. But when they succeed, no one will remember these early problems or occasional spin. Bullish on $TSLA
Gary, there are so many affordable options like zipcar, uber, etc. that millenials don't have to make do without cars, they simply only use them when they need them. Even if used semi--often, that can be far cheaper than owning a car outright. Plus if you live in urban areas, most day to day activities can be done within walking distance or via a short ride on public transportation.
