I would like an educational presentation to be in a text format rather than in a fast-moving audio presentation. The reason is that with informative stuff, sometimes it is useful to slow down the data rate to more totally understand the material, and possibly even to repeat a bit of it. For worthless entertainment and comedy a steady rapid-fire delivery is OK, but for worthwhile subjects that I can actually gain something from, text is better. AND, if I had considered this presentation worthless that would not bother me. But it did seem worth while and so not having it in text is a bother.

An individual makes a big donation and a bunch gets invested in their organization. This handy arrangement was recently taken to task by the press here in Michigan, as some of the organizations failed after the endowment fund invested in them, and the impending failure was obvious, according to the news group investigating the deals. So that is why a lot of sub-optimal investments may be happening in the iveys as well. Just a bit too cozy.
No matter what, there will be a need for natural gas, although it is always possible that greedy sellers will price it high enough to reduce the demand, and lead the users to seek alternatives. So I really see no motivation to have the slightest bit of sympathy for those not getting as rich as they want speculating with borrowed cash.
The author once again demonstrates that way too much emotion is involved in the stock selling and buying operation. Just imagine what the stock market on Planet Vulcan must be like. Really, why allow emotions to substitute for logic????

Presently prices are low because the supply is high because some sellers want to have a greater portion of the sales, and they are not willing to reduce their share of the sales. In addition, the companies mostly do not pay for the value of product that they are extracting, only for the extraction effort. That is totally different from manufacturing, where value is actually created.
When I first considered doing any investing I was given the good advice of "Don't invest More Than You Can Afford To LOSE!!" That should still be held by anybody venturing into the stock market mix with the intention of making a profit at it. Just exactly the same as for any other form of gambling, except better odds, usually. In addition, consider that cautionary phrase that we see frequently, "Past performance is no guarantee of future performance." Probably the most truthful statement ever made.
The financial disaster of 2008, and hopefully a lot more regulation of the mortgage industry, certainly brought out an understanding of how poorly advised constant house hopping can be. Hopefully some lessons have been learned.
