Is There A Light At The End Of The Tunnel For A COVID-19 Therapeutic?

Indeed if you need safety you should not invest in small biotechs. That said, both of these stocks have their own risks as does the vaccine hype. They got taxpayer money for their Covid efforts, however, we will see if they are fruitful in this or just got subsidized. That said, this has already past. Getting in now is even more risky. There are sure to be a lot more bumps along the way and the rush to get a vaccine out early is not just a bad idea from a regulatory standpoint, but it is a health and legal issue.

The last statement as many people have said, is that this is something that should be taken care of with improved treatments so it is not life threatening and thus a vaccine won't be necessary. If we get to that point the need will vanish, especially since none of them are claiming 100% efficacy and the virus hasn't mutated that much yet. It may drop considerably after it is used.

Safe doesn't mean effective and given the safety hasn't studied long term effects and the results aren't completed, out, or published fast track means very little besides potentially doctors can prescribe it to you. As stated, it means very little and is on par with the Russian vaccine in terms of lack of disclosure or effectiveness. Vaccines need months of trials with large study groups to prove effectiveness and efficacy factoring out other things that can bias the findings and factoring in all demographic considerations. In addition, you need to track effectiveness over time and safety.

Releasing something because no one taking it has gotten Covid versus a few in the general group means very little and does little to prove its effectiveness. I wouldn't hold my horses over this.

Here is a recent interview with Cytodyn. Enrollment is projected to be going well and they have access to plenty of capital. We are just waiting for scientific announcements and hopefully approvals.

Energy Stocks Soar To Best Week Ever As Vaccine Hope Vanquishes Fear

It is hope but there is not much to go on as of yet. We need full analysis, nothing will be done on the scant report and it is very questionable to take a vaccine when no one has even studies the long term effects of it or shown it works and is safe in those who are in critical conditions or that the most susceptible parts of the population are protected.

Likewise, as in the Russian study, no one will trust a partially completed half vetted vaccine with no peer review especially if the regulatory body is knowingly being manipulated by politics. Please, do the science the normal way.

The simple fact is Trump not dealing with Corona virus and not working to have a safe turnover of power means nothing in the economy or Corona will be solved this year. Don't expect anything much this month or next. If anything the market seems to be bracing for more mayhem. Also, as people expected, the current administrations push to rush through a vaccine undermines it's legitimacy, especially since like Russia's vaccine, their wasn't full disclosure, peer review, or an explanation on its effects on the most susceptible parts of the population. There is still a lot to find out especially with the large doses they now what to use. Likewise, there is no long term effect study as is there not enough to say whether those in the trial haven't contracted the disease through social distancing and wearing masks or if it is the vaccine.

Needless to say, the market is skeptical, and we still need a solution for those who have Covid. Don't expect too much from Mr. market under these circumstances.

Thanks for your comment. I think people think a vaccine and treatment of Covid are in conflict with each other. This is simply not true, especially when there are millions of already infected patients. Also I would like toy point out that a safe and effective vaccine is still speculation and there is no proof any vaccine will work on or work with the most vulnerable populations or those already infected. I think this is why they are going the vaccine route. They would know efficacy much faster if they could prove it was effective on those who already contracted the disease. Instead, they get government funding and can drag on the process for a long time by avoiding helping any ill patients (which so far has been no use dealing with the current crisis or saving lives like Leronlimab has done for some patients.

I assume everyone is having trouble getting willing patients and I suppose it's especially hard for smaller companies as big companies are trying everything to line up subjects to test all manner of potential Covid cures on people. That said, I think its right to seek testing with other countries at this stage. Earlier I think would have been better, however, it is tough to juggle everything they have their hands in right now.

As mentioned, Covid was not their main focus, although it has become that. Personally I think what the FDA has done to delay this is shameful, although the company is playing nice with them. We hopefully will hear more details from the company soon. I prefer not to speculate on an exact date or announcement.

Thanks for your interest and your kind comment.

Muscle Maker Grill certainly seems like it past the hump. It has opened new restaurants and the fearmongering has subsided. Hopefully, some will open closer to me soon.
