Stocks: How Bad And How Much Worse Could It Get?

I think the low yields and the economy are the big worry. Less so with the stock market, however, if real estate drops precipitously after the summer run I would start to be cautious. Without such low yields property would probably show a more obvious weakening.

Huge Discrepancies Cast Doubt On The Better Than Expected Jobs Report

Agreed. I think many economists have been saying the same as well as inflation numbers for quite a long time.

CytoDyn’s Data: Approvable Drug Sets Stage For Near-Term Move Upward
5 years ago

The US needs to start discussions with CYDY if they want to guarantee any of their production upon approval as other countries look to get approval before them. They have taken their sweet time going through the process which helps verify its effectiveness. However, many feel that the cost is people are in ICUs that don't need to be.

Today’s Energy Predicament – A Look At Some Charts
5 years ago

1 The world needs to learn that taxing energy is yes a way to generate income for governments but hurts those country's economies and growth. What makes more sense is to give breaks to renewable companies than cause inflation through ever increasing taxes.

2 Those who want cleaner energy need to encourage the cessation of coal production and consumption. If you can't even achieve this then raising oil prices and regulating this only encourages coal's continued operation. As for decreasing oil for gasoline in automobiles, this will happen naturally. Rather than using regulations to force moves to electric, supporting clean energy and electric/hypbrid buildout is more important. Furthermore standardized charging, infrastructure, etc. is vital and important especially for hydrogen cars.

3 Those who don't believe that we are setting ourselves up for another energy crisis are fooling themselves. Energy has remained cheap due to Covid and due to the US's ramp up along with Russia for some measure. Energy growth for both these countries are not sustainable and Saudi Arabia can not prevent price hikes by making up for any shortages anymore. If anything, we may actually see their production growth completely stop in our lifetime.

Should I Sell Tesla Stock? Should I Buy Tesla Stock? The Post Split Answer
5 years ago

I think people are wise enough to see the splits as the ruses they were pumping already well valued stocks. Certainly selling before the dump would have been good. However with Tesla entering into indexes, I don't expect Tesla to ever be the same. Those looking at the previous charts to give direction will be sadly disappointed.

You will need to look at not just growth but profitability, cash flow, etc. The price will likely become more traditional with valuations regressing to more normalized metrics. The good news is trading will eventually stabilize and the volatility will decline.

I think people pretty much agree job growth is not sustainable in the US especially without further stimulus and Corona still growing.

Inflation - Running Out Of Road

Indeed I think everyone knows the inflation numbers are fixed due to adding in substitution (steak is not the same as ground beef), marginalizing things you need for things you don't (you need housing, healthcare, education, etc. which are increasingly less of a percent of inflation than computers and cars), etc. Even so, inflation is less of a concern right now than the destruction of the middle class and mass loss of jobs and income due to Covid. Social stability will be our main crisis in the near future.

Cannabis Central: 80% Of Stocks In Pure-Play Pot Portfolio Declined Again On Wednesday
5 years ago

Most all stocks declined today besides two of the three stocks I wrote on recently. Selectivity counts now more than ever and you must be aware of the market risk in stocks. Cannabis is not a good sector right now although I'm not sure how much it is the sector than it is the market in total.
