Crude Oil Impulsively Continuing To The Upside
Good projection. After time-period of volatility, it looks like price is headed for the stable region between $50 - $55.
Interest Rates Could Peak Here, Says Joe Friday
With low interest rates, breaking through the falling channel looks bleak.
When It Comes To NAFTA And Canada, Trump Has It All Wrong
I think that you're spot on with the competition faced from low wage countries. However, labor and capital in the US and Canada are quite expensive, thus manufacturing industries will have bigger cost drivers than Mexico. Cross-border investment should also be dispersed equally among NAFTA members in order to spread market risk.
Repeal Of Dodd-Frank Could Have Big Consequences
Repealing the Frank-Dodd could have negative implications on an already repressed financial situation. This could open up doors to subprime lending, high risk lending and possibly deregulating the securitization of loans. The current state of things looks like we are headed for stability. Repealing Frank-Dodd could lead us in the opposite direction.
What Comes After Central Bank Intervention?
In the long-run, the self-correcting mechanism will always revert to market equilibrium. Reduction in Money Supply is likely to trigger an increase in the nominal interest rate. This can cause inflation leading to a decrease in output, and when self-corrected, the resultant equilibrium has a higher inflation.
Capping rates is a good method to control output and inflation. Consequently, market activity may become stagnant with government intervention.
How To Invest In Energy With The Middle East On The Brink
Sectarian clashes and international trade restrictions have tended to depress economic conditions across an unstable #MiddleEast. However, Abu Dhabi is on the cusp of breakthrough technology in the #energy sector with the first green city "Masdar City."
Considering large #oil revenues of the Gulf governments, they could expand renewable energy sector, whereby, reducing dependency on the unstable oil market. #Solar energy, kinetic energy and hydro-energy are viable and abundant in the region. This transition is likely to take time to come into effect, but the rewards in R&D, infrastructure, employment, investment and exports are likely to trigger an expansion of some sort.
Can A Stimulus Program Really Boost The U.S. Economy?
Since the Dollar value has been depreciating against the Euro market, I think that the zero rate regime has not produced a favorable outcome. Rather, it allowed for more divergence between debt and capital return. Moreover, in the long run the fixed aggregate supply acts as a sort of anchor for stabilizing the economy.
Considering that in Monetary Policy real interest rate is a function of inflation, increasing the rate will likely lead to higher inflation rates leading to lower output and decreasing unemployment.
The Energy Problem Behind Trump’s Election
Despite slow growth in world GDP, I think that shifting to renewable energy is positive and that will provide economic stability. Considering that Renewable Energy is a Modern Sector, we can look to theories of Modern Sector Enlargement (MSE) and Modern Sector Enrichment (MSR). Both these theories address concerns of income inequality.
I think that we need both MSE and MSR to take place concurrently.
- MSR decreases income inequality making everyone better off; while
- MSE increases growth and increases inequality.
Together they can have a balanced growth path and create opportunities for new employment as well as less dependence on traditional (pollutive) forms of energy.
Spending on R&D in this industry will boost productivity of capital and labor, ultimately, resulting in equilibrium prices and quantities.
Lovely presentation, very informative and comprehensive!
The Good, The Bad And The Ugly: Tesla Motors
I have faith in Tesla, even though they are making losses at the moment. Based on the numbers it seems that there is an organizational problem that causes such an edgy variation in the ROE. On a 5 year chart there seems to be evidence that it is a good long term investment. Nonetheless, volatility exists and this is because it produces electrical energy powered vehicles, an R&D intensive industry. The particularly high volume of trading after 2013 added to the volatility we currently see. A good sign is making a profit for this quarter!
4 Canadian Marijuana Stocks Likely To Continue Feeling A Buzz From The Recent U.S. Election Results
Considering that producers will take part in expanding the agriculture sector, it is easy to identify that this is a great investment opportunity. An infant market that is still attracting customers and is still attracting popular demand in the political sphere has much room for growth. Environmental companies may try to penetrate and segment the market, however I believe that they should stick to their guns.
