Amazon "Basics" Well Beyond the Basics: World Domination?
Charles Howard 12/20/2017 10:05:17 PM

You pose an insightful question and my gut tells me you are right. But I'm with @[Mish Shedlock](user:5141), - if it works, let Amazon sell as many Amazon Basics products as they want. I've been personally very happy with this line. As the author stated, it offers customers a quality product at a lower price. If Amazon is making money off it, then all the power to them. It will only help my stake in $AMZN be even more profitable.

Amazon "Basics" Well Beyond the Basics: World Domination?
Ayelet Wolf 12/20/2017 10:02:45 PM

Interesting article @[Mish Shedlock](user:5141). But why does it matter? Virtually every store from pharmacies to supermarkets sell their own brand of discounted, comparable products.

And I wonder... how many Amazon Basic products does #Amazon sell as a percentage of it's total product offering? I suspect Amazon offers a far smaller percentage than their brick and mortar counterparts. $AMZN

Roku, Next Big Tech Flop Or Opportunity?
Danny Straus 12/20/2017 9:57:56 PM

While I don't know much about it myself, I've read that much of Amazon TV Stick's success was fueled by the ability to easily add the Kodi app to easily (and illegally) stream virtually any tv show or movie. I wonder if Roku has this same ability and if not, if their corporate citizenship is hurting them. $ROKU $AMZN

Dental Distributors Slide As Morgan Stanley Says Sell On Amazon Threat
Michael Molman 12/6/2017 6:22:50 PM

Amazon $AMZN has a history of disrupting every industry it goes into from retail to groceries, the question is whether or not companies within the dental supply space will be able to adjust quickly enough to meet the new threat.

Amazon's Stealth Play For Alexa - The Car
Doug Morris 10/9/2017 9:36:05 PM

I own numerous #Amazon #Alexa products, but I was bowled over by the sheer number of additional new Alexa products they rolled out last week! $AMZN

Netflix’s Price Increase Signals Original Content Isn’t Enough
Frank Underwood 10/9/2017 7:39:26 PM

I think #Netflix is the clear leader in the streaming space and even the major competitors like the #Amazon powerhouse with it's edge in compatible hardware or extra benefits (like Prime shipping) or companies like #Sony with it's vast libraries of videos can't compete.

Netflix has the largest offering, the most critically acclaimed original content, the best tech and the most loyal fanbase. While the companies financials could be better, the fact that they've been able to take it's first mover advantage and persevere despite the intense competition shouldn't be so quickly dismissed.

Unlike most products they can continue to raise prices and I and many others would continue to pay. $NFLX $AMZN $SNE

Are Grocery Chains About To Join The Retail-Bankruptcy Bloodbath?
Angry Old Lady 9/5/2017 7:02:02 PM

Ouch, Carol. And I thought I was an angry lady. I too don't live near a #WholeFoods, but as a result, I'm not going to generalize and claim that all their customers are the same (and dumb to boot). But even if true, if anyone can make diamonds out of coal, it's #Amazon. $AMZN $WFM

Are Grocery Chains About To Join The Retail-Bankruptcy Bloodbath?
Carol W 9/5/2017 2:35:48 PM

I don't live anywhere near a $WFM- who cares? Their prices, even slashed, are higher than what I pay. TIlapia? Farm raised? Totally toxic stuff from what I read...customers at WFM are mostly clueless gullible millenials with a herd mentality. Long $AMZN.

Wal-Mart Just Isn't A Growth Company Any More
Angry Old Lady 7/17/2017 7:56:48 PM

While I know #Walmart ($WMT) and #Amazon ($AMZN) treat its suppliers and employees poorly, I also know that means greater savings for me, so I'm okay with it. No one is forced to sell to, or work for, these companies. And no one is forced to shop there. I see no issues all around.
