An interesting warning about corporate malfeasance and sneaky tricks. It reminds me of the DCT (Detroit Center Tool) scandal about 20 years ago. That one damaged the company that I was working for at the time.
I ha So thanks for describing the reasons to consider it.d been aware of the use of lithium in battery systems for quite a while but had not considered investing in this area. So thanks for describing the reasons to consider this investment area.
But there are also many working to develop battery technologies that use less expensive and more commonly available materials.
My thinking is that if Hillary Clinton had won the election we would have so many other problems to distract us from the virus pandemic. The USA really needs that additional choice option: "None of the Above." How else to get a better set of candidates?
Certainly Tesla does have good marketing and a CEO who talks very well. That is especially important for stock prices. They promise a lot and folks don't seem to mind that delivery does not quite match promise.
What keeps the other companies down is the perceived realities of the EVs, which are shorter range and MUCH longer refueling times, and that very big expense of replacing the battery every few years. That cost compares to the cost of an engine replacement in ICE cars, which almost never need an engine replacement. So who would ever want a vehicle with those problems?
As for the computer driven EV, or fuel driven car, they are still not ready and probably will never be ready as far as the software goes. Who would want a car that needed software upgrades on a weekly basis? And thode updates will all be bug fixes. Who wants a buggy car??? Certainly not me.
That "Federal Stimulus" money is doing two very bad things to us. First, it is adding to the very huge burden on those folks not even born yet, and right now it is fueling a boost in INFLATION as it throws more money towards bidding up the prices of fewer goods. The fewer goods part is obvious to anyone who has been to a grocery store, and the bid up prices are clear to any who have paid for those groceries. This is happening at a time when more folks are needing to live off of their savings, which inflation is eroding the value of. And the whole purpose of the inflation is to hold share prices and profits up.
So here is a warning: We will not forget this when eventually the nation recovers, and those guilty will be out of jobs. OR possibly MUCH WORSE!
Bubbles burst! That is understood. What makes them bust is less well understood, except possibly in hindsight. Can the burst be accurately predicted?? Probably not by any legal means, unless one owns a reliable time travel machine.
" Being HONEST and not running on euphoric emotions"?? That is totally the opposite of so many that I see. The exact opposite of all the sunshine spouting CEOs who are always praying about the wonderful future next year.
