Didn't ALCO go bust in fairly spectacular fashion not that long ago? I presume you mean you made money on it somewhere in the past, but the way this is written you imply it's still in your portfolio - care to clarify?
What's really random about this article is that some of these companies don't exist anymore (e.g. Hansen, which has not been HANS in years - now MNST) and Immucor, which was taken private almost 5 years ago. So this is purely academic, without any kind of rigorous academic comparison structure. I think saying 'wow these companies made money' should be accompanied by info, where applicable, that they lost it later....reader beware.
So, competition would lower prices...and the heck with all the students who couldn't go to college, is that your point? Poorly written article in general.
