You mention the July 8 'snafu' but neglect to mention that ICE stock dropped 3% that day as a result. Imagine what if an exchange actually WAS hacked? These don't seem like really safe investments to me.
Fortunately some writers on TalkMarkets ARE talking about it. Carol Wydra had a good article Wednesday and there is a helpful Zacks posted Sat. morning. I've been getting into this topic ever since I saw Tyler Durden (Zero Hedge) using the transports as a key indicator. Thanks for elaborating on this topic!
That's a really good point. I tried the link using my age (60) and it says that oil will run out when I am 112 - or, 52 years from now. So that would make the author 29 years old.
OMG how old are you, Harry, 15? We did have electricity, and television, and supermarkets and products back in the '60s. We had brands, too! Like not just Coke but Ford, GM, Heinz, Alka-Seltzer - I doubt product placement was a problem for a show set in the '60s. My goodness, how do you invest if you don't understand the 'legs' many blue-chip companies have to stand on?
I think the comment that "retirees with no commute" don't suffer when gas prices are high reflects a Gwyneth Paltrow-type blindness to what "suffer" means. An elderly person with an old gas-guzzler on a fixed income suffers plenty! A third of retirees have only Social Security Income, and two-thirds rely primarily on Social Security.
I'm pretty surprised that ANGI has recovered since this article ran. Their promotions smack of desperation. For an outfit that is built on reliable, honest recommendations to use overhype and overpromise in their own promos is not a good sign....
I really enjoy your writing. To clarify, you think that withholding a vote, hence approval, is the only option? I can't see another, but won't that just be seen as apathy and encourage them to think they can do anything with impunity?

So sorry about your mother, John. And I would have dissolved into a puddle singing the Irish lullaby - very brave and sweet.
