I think it is more likely that people are simply fed up of seeing yet another unarmed black man being killed by the police.

Of course there are likely contributing factors, such as people being fed up with being stuck at home due to the pandemic, or the economic pressure it has caused. But racism is the primary reason for the protests.

I do think we need someone tough to make sure we get good trade deals. But I do agree that when it comes to both #COVID-19 and the #riots, that #Trump is a destructive force.

This is an excellent point. It's also worth noting that "overwhelmed" is a subjective term. I've never heard a single hospital worker say anything like "yeah, it's been fine, we have plenty of PPE and we've been taking it easy over here." On the contrary, they are exhausted, working crazy hours, not able to see be with their own families out of fear of infecting them, etc., and reusing PPE far beyond what was ever intended, or even using items like garbage bags or whatever they can.

Many have become sick, died or even committed suicide. It's a horrific situation. I can't even imagine how much worse it would have been had the country remained completely open.

I read about at least one case where someone had recovered from COVID-19 and then became reinfected and died the second time around.

This is a good point and something I hadn't thought of until contributor @[Joseph Cox](user:127658) discussed it at length in some of his posts.

@[DRM](user:130312), I found this Fox News article confusing if not outright misleading, but perhaps I am misunderstanding the situation... The author of the article says that The WHO showed bias towards Israel, but then went on to say that it was several countries, who happen to be WHO member countries who voted for the resolution against Israel. So was it the WHO, which is not a country and has no vote, or actually these countries, many of which are known to be anti-Israel, who supported this resolution.

The US voted against this resolution and they are a WHO member country. By the same logic you could say the WHO is pro-Israel because the United States, a WHO member country, supports Israel.

To be clear, I'm not saying you are wrong, I am seeking clarification. Too often these days mainstream "news" articles are actually the author's heavily biased opinion disguised as news. True unbiased journalism has long been dead. And a few tweaked words can completely alter the situation and readers' perceptions. My initial feeling is that's what is happening here.

Hi Mike, the locusts were news to me as well. But Joseph had an article about that specific issue today: talkmarkets.com/.../the-cost-of-our-coronavirus-insanity
