Michael specializes in sustainability. He has 20 years' experience in financial markets, including advisory on investments, and reporting solutions that enable better sustainability governance, strategy, risk management and target setting. Over this time, Michael has specialised in sustainability performance, net zero transition and nature risk impacts on assets and corporates. Michael works with investors, companies, consultants, regulators, exchanges, and industry bodies to advise on responsible investment trends and issues, providing the data and tools to integrate ESG signals and reporting for company operations, risk management, and portfolio construction. Michael has successfully managed commercial teams to achieve high growth across Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa. Michael regularly presents at executive and board education sessions, roundtables and at conferences, including COP28 presentations at the Malaysian, Namibian and Rainforest Pavilions on Net Zero, Carbon Markets, and Nature Risk. He has been and continues to be involved in ESG initiatives including; CIX IAC – Climate Impact X International Advisory Committee; ASFA Climate Risk Disclosure Working Group; ASFI Technical Working Group – Enhancing sustainability, resilience, stability of the financial system. Michael was part of the highly rated research team at Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he was head of Emerging Markets quantitative analysis. In this role he built and optimized portfolios, developed factor investment strategies and models. Previously, Michael was a cofounder in the Climakind initiative to reduce global carbon emissions by promoting a price on carbon and a thought leader in solutions to the rising levels of global carbon emissions. He published reports and analysis on climate change and carbon reporting and was a keynote speaker promoting climate change action.
