Elon Musk Now Wants To Drill For Natural Gas In Texas
4 years ago

It is a puzzle why mister Musk thinks that he can find gas that others have missed. That attitude alone should be a warning that perhaps there is a reason why all of those wells are not being used. OR is it possible that they have just been set aside to wait for better prices, and that there is plenty of gas available? an interesting question indeed.

Certainly all hills must eventually give way to valleys, and most euphoria comes to an end, sometimes calmly and sometimes with a rather abrupt crash. And Grantham is not the only one predicting a reversal, just currently the most unwelcome voice shouting. The points made are certainly valid, though.

Certainly this covid plague is as devastating as a large explosion, just not as destructive to property. And certainly it is almost as deadly to many businesses. There is no question about that. The shift to online shopping is a major change and will probably remain with us if ever this plague finally subsides.

So the organizations able to fill the gap will mostly do quite well, and if they are able to provide better customer service they will probably do very well indeed. So they may be a good long-term investment unless they are already overpriced.

Certainly the electric vehicles do not produce tailpipe emissions, but rational folks should consider the question of "where does the energy to charge them come from, and how does it get in to the vehicle battery pack? The bad news is that it must be generated someplace and then travel through the power grid and finally reach a local charging point.

Now of course the EVs are that "Next Big Thing", and so the shares are rising in price, with value sort of following. But I see a less wonderful 'future with recharging being an expensive "big Deal"

Plant-Based Food Company Plant&Co Up 250% In Just 2 Months

I see profits and share prices rising for all of these plant based food companies, and so it must be that the products are high profit ones. That is fine for those folks who have the money to spend on such products but it does not do anything for those folks who do not have the means to buy them.

So while the products have appeal and provide healthy meals they do not help the less fortunate hungry people.

OK, so now the market is running on a mix of emotions and some actual good news. But I always recommend not making business or financial decisions based on emotions. AND NEVER gamble more than you can afford to lose.
