Great article! Give me a new perspective on economists, "...modeling economic activity beyond the immediate future is an exercise in futility. That doesn't mean you shouldn't make informed guesses about what could happen.." and now the question leaves to be: since the interval between the possible recession next year and the Financial Crisis is quite close (if it acutally will happen), what will be the possible outcomes of the next recession and to what degree will the economy, like the unemployment rate, be affected....can these economists do some more informed guesses

Market psychology is always an interesting topic in finance. Thank you for sharing it and listing the examples. I think most traders or investors do not actually do research on the stocks they buy or sell, they just follow the trend and do exactly what the informed investors do (herd behavior).

Insightful article about unemployment rate. "It looks like there may soon be more waiters and bartenders in America than manufacturing workers". But... if all these economic data are not trustworthy how do financial analysts do their prediction analysis...which should, to some extent, depend on the current economy...?

Nice article! Some comments: truly it is meaningful to see the actual numbers and the year to year change, but there are more students each year graduating and looking for jobs. If the number of people seeking jobs increases faster than the decline rate of the unemployment rate, what the government are trying to convince us (the economy is on the right track and there are more jobs for you!) no longer makes sense...
