Look how long it took the US to deal with Afghanistan. I think Israel is in for a very long bloody war. And the Talibanm didn't have terror tunnels. Urban warfare is hard enough, thow in those tunnels and the fact that they are supportred by the citizentry... this war could last years. And it will almost definitely spread into a regional war.
I would not be surprised if the US, Russia and Iran were pulled in too. Too many unknown variables here. Time for a safe haven asset like gold!
1. Hamas are liars and PR experts. A dangerous combination. They greatly inflate casualty counts. 2. I question how innocent the Palestinians are. They voted Hamas into power have polls have shown they hold considerable support among the people. They danced and handed out candies on 9/11 and again cheered when Israeli babies were burned alive and decapitated. How can you really make peace with such people?
They also are protecting Hamas - it's impossible to hide and care for 220-300 hostages without any civilians knowing where they are. Yet none are passing on this inforamtion which would lead to a quick end ot the war and a very limited, surgical strike.
Although most companies that are in the S&P have a moat of some sort and it’s dirt cheap(exp. ratio) w/ allot of volume. Per actual performance Moat wins hands down if you held over the past 5 years or just YTD. Plus I’m a sucker for Morningstar.

It is worth noting two things here:
