Another Sound Lesson In Risk Management

I remember about a year ago Uni-pixel was trading high at around $18 per share, with a great deal of excitement around the stock based on speculation that they would be producing the touch screens for (I believe it was) Dell. Uni-pixel is now trading at around $5 per share.

Wisconsin Department Of Workforce Development Determines $7.25/hour Is A Living Wage

I think arguments against minimum wage increases result in job loss could be forged by looking at the state of Washington and also San Francisco. San Francisco, with a minimum wage of over $10, had the greatest increase in jobs among cities last year. Washington has also been thriving. This, of course, might be a a result of omitted variable bias, but it is worth looking into nonetheless. As you said, current minimum wage laws do not provide enough for people to live off of. This needs to change.

Biotech Investors Gamble On Ebola Stocks

Great recommendations. Other stocks I would watch for would be Sarepta (SRPT) and Chimerix (CMRX). Sarepta has an experimental ebola vaccine and Chimerix was recently given FDA authorization for its drug brincidofovir. Brincidofovir was the drug used to treat the Texas man who had ebola.

Is A Long-Term Gold Bear Market Possible?

Trust is an issue I have with commodity-backed money. The government can easily overprint because civilians have no insight into the quantity of the commodity available. In this case, that would be the available supply of gold. Not that a fiat system is much better. It actually makes corruption and manipulation even more possible. In a world where deception runs rampant, I believe the solution is a decentralized currency; one that does not require the trust of corrupt politicians.

I had owned Alcoa toward the end of 2011. Saw nothing but red. Perhaps I should have exhibited more patience. Thanks for the article, I'll take a look to see if I can find a good entry point.

I know that historically Apple has risen in price with the release of new products, but I feel that the incredible run is coming to a close. This is, of course, strictly conjecture at this point.

Perhaps I am in the minority but I feel as if Tim Cook will be the demise of Apple. Apple definitely has a large following, but without Jobs where will they find their innovation? I hold the opinion that their technology is already lagging.

Great Graphic: The Bitcoin Surprise And The Dollar

I think the greatest takeaway from Bitcoin will be its blockchain technology. With that said, it has experienced several sharp declines historically and has always recovered so I am curious to see how the market reacts to this latest downtrend.

With the success of Chipotle, and as a result, the rise of many establishments attempting to be the "Chipotle of pizza" (such as Blaze), do you see a potential decline in growth for the likes of Pizza Hut, Papa John's, etc.? I think the new establishments pose at least a small threat.
