I suspect many of these people are getting the bulk of their income 'under the table' and/or intentionally not seeking higher salaries to avoid losing their government benefits (#ObamaPhones, #welfare, #foodstamps, etc.).

That may be true for people taking the traditional route, but some startup entrepreneurs seem to get away with a lot. Like Zuckerberg wearing the same hoodie day in an day out. Had I shown up to an interview like that, I'd be shown the door.

I'm not so sure. You are forgetting one key point. $KING is not a one hit wonder. Sure, the stock may stagnate or even go down for a bit. But once they have their next hit again, the price will increase even further.

I can speak first hand to the fact that AWS has the worst customer service I've ever seen in a hosting company. Lot's of problems with a VERY slow response time. In fact, most times they don't respond at all. If you want tech support to response within a timely manner, they charge you extra for it too. Surprising for "Earth's Most Customer Centric Company."
