Interesting article @[Mish Shedlock](user:5141). But why does it matter? Virtually every store from pharmacies to supermarkets sell their own brand of discounted, comparable products.
And I wonder... how many Amazon Basic products does #Amazon sell as a percentage of it's total product offering? I suspect Amazon offers a far smaller percentage than their brick and mortar counterparts. $AMZN
I'd say most people own one tablet and one phone. Maybe families with kids have more tablets for their children to play with, but I'd bet they are cheaper tablets like #Amazon Kindle Fires orones geared towards kids like the LeapPad. But tablets don't need to be upgraded as frequently and don't break as often. Phones are always on us and take a lot of abuse, get lost etc. And they tout many more new features with every generation.
By contrast, I can't tell much of a difference between the latest iPads and my older one. Sure they are fractionally faster, thinner and lighter. But barely noticeable. I see no need to upgrade. But regardless of the reason. tablet sales are down.
I think #Netflix is the clear leader in the streaming space and even the major competitors like the #Amazon powerhouse with it's edge in compatible hardware or extra benefits (like Prime shipping) or companies like #Sony with it's vast libraries of videos can't compete.
Netflix has the largest offering, the most critically acclaimed original content, the best tech and the most loyal fanbase. While the companies financials could be better, the fact that they've been able to take it's first mover advantage and persevere despite the intense competition shouldn't be so quickly dismissed.
Unlike most products they can continue to raise prices and I and many others would continue to pay. $NFLX$AMZN$SNE
Ouch, Carol. And I thought I was an angry lady. I too don't live near a #WholeFoods, but as a result, I'm not going to generalize and claim that all their customers are the same (and dumb to boot). But even if true, if anyone can make diamonds out of coal, it's #Amazon. $AMZN$WFM
While I know #Walmart ($WMT) and #Amazon ($AMZN) treat its suppliers and employees poorly, I also know that means greater savings for me, so I'm okay with it. No one is forced to sell to, or work for, these companies. And no one is forced to shop there. I see no issues all around.
#Walmart is horrible to both its suppliers and its employees. But are #Amazon and other companies really that much better? With the exception of a standout like Wegmans, any company that wields that much clout is going to use it. $WMT$AMZN
I've written off retail stores convinced that they simply can't compete with the size, reach and initiative for innovative ideas that #Amazon has. But you've painted a good case as to why #RossStores are worth a closer look. $AMZN$ROST
Shopping at #Walmart is a miserable experience. #Amazon excels at customer service. If they increase efficency at #WholeFoods, they can likely do less with more, while still keeping customer service a priority. $WMT, $AMZN$WFM
#Walmart acquired #Jet to compete with #Amazon. Now Amazon wants to acquire #WholeFoods to compete with Walmart. I don't think Walmart's acquisition did a think for them. Hopefully Amazon's will work out better for them $WMT$AMZN$WFM
Personally, I hope this acquisition is the end of #Walmart. Shopping there is a dreadful experience and they don't deserve to stay in business. Yes, prices are cheap but there is zero customer service, horrible wait times, etc. #Amazon could radically change all that doing what they do best. $WMT$AMZN
I agree but I wouldn't be surprised if we started seeing #Amazon Kiosks in the corner of every #WholeFoods location. A great way to sell their actual devices, similar to mini #Apple Stores. $AMZN$WFM$AAPL
#Amazon's acquisition of #WholeFoods could revolutionize the industry. I don't think it will be the end of #Walmart though unless Amazon starts selling actual products in the the physical stores like Walmart does. And I don't think the Whole Foods locations are physically large enough. $AMZN$WMT$WFM
It's going to be interesting to see how #Amazon is going to react to this speculated rival bidder. This has already caused a bidding war and #WholeFoods' price has risen above what amazon has agreed to pay. $AMZN$WFM

Amazon's Stealth Play For Alexa - The Car
I own numerous #Amazon #Alexa products, but I was bowled over by the sheer number of additional new Alexa products they rolled out last week! $AMZN
