The bottom line is that the Treasury department shouldn't have to act. The Congress should have already passed laws on tax inversions and many other issues. The problem is that the current congress can't get any law passed, so the U.S. Treasury had to act.

" BioMarin said it’s reviewing the FDA’s decision and will work with the agency to determine the next steps. Drisapersen is also up for review in Europe, with a decision expected in June."
The program is not dead Biomarin is working with the FDA on possible next steps for the program. In addition, Drisapersen is up for review in the European Union. You might want to read up on that. I know it was rejected last month in the U.S. but that doesn't change the fact the company is still in talks with the FDA in the U.S. and there is a Europe decision coming this June.
