more Kurt Cobb combines two professional identities. He is best known for his work as a blogger, columnist, speaker and author focusing on energy and the environment. He also works as an independent marketing and publicity consultant and writer who has served a wide variety of corporate, nonprofit, governmental and political clients. In his role as a writer about energy and the environment, he is a regular contributor to the Energy Voices section of The Christian Science Monitor and author of the peak-oil-themed novel Prelude. He has written many columns for the Paris-based science news site Scitizen, and his work has been featured on Energy Bulletin (now Resilience.org), The Oil Drum, OilPrice.com, Econ Matters, Peak Oil Review, 321energy, Common Dreams, Le Monde Diplomatique and many other sites. He is a founding member of the Association for the Study of Peak Oil and Gas-USA, and is a fellow of the Arthur Morgan Institute for Community Solutions. He has given countless public presentations, and he writes a widely read blog called Resource Insights. Out of the limelight, he works as a marketing communications consultant and freelance writer and has extensive experience in the hospital, pharmaceutical, medical instrument and energy fields. He also has considerable experience marketing coated printing and technical papers. In addition, he has worked as a consultant to several political campaigns and nonprofit advocacy groups. In that role he has guided message development, managed publicity efforts, written direct mail and walking pieces, and produced radio and television ads.
