For many years, crypto has been a rapidly developing field. In 2017 it became quite popular and many new users decided to enter this lucrative niche. At the beginning of 2018 cryptos realized unprecedented growth and were valued as high as $20,000 for one Bitcoin. The value didn't stop growing after that – by May 2021 it was close to $60,000. However, the same month started what crypto investors and enthusiasts called "Crash No. 5".

By May 2021 Bitcoin lost about 80% of its value in one month – from $60,000 to only $10,000. This was the biggest decline in Bitcoin's value since the big crash of 2014. Altcoins also experienced even greater losses.

The reasons for the crash were quite numerous – from ever-increasing transaction fees to massive amounts of hack attacks, and an increasing number of countries banning cryptos or just making it hard for users to access exchanges and convert cryptos to fiat.

Cryptos were also attacked by several governments as they thought cryptos are a threat to their national currency and financial system. Finally, the biggest reason of all – major mining companies decided to stop producing new coins. Users that still wanted some action soon found out about this and started panicking – which led to massive sell-offs and a big drop in the value.

Despite all these reasons, cryptos didn't completely go away. Many users still hold coins and wait for values to rise again – but it looks like this won't happen soon at least not until Bitcoin's next major update is released.

Will the Crypto Market Bounce Back?

It looks like the rumors about mining companies stopping the production of new coins are true. It wouldn't be surprising if there aren't any major developments in the crypto space by 2022. But that doesn't necessarily mean this technology is gone for good – maybe just in a deep sleep until it wakes up again.

But what can we learn from history and the Bitcoin Prime review? The 2000s were also full of hype about stock markets and how high the Dow Jones can get. But then in 2008 a big crash happened and it took years to crawl back up from the hole. Now, even though many people predicted this will happen again, it didn't.

However, there are many crypto enthusiasts who believe Bitcoin's first major update will be released in 2022. And when this happens there is a good chance we'll see another bull run followed by an all-time high reached by 2025 or even earlier since it seems like the world doesn't want to stop using cryptos and the technology behind them.

If you think crypto might be going away soon after May 2021, then you're probably right – that's why you should invest as much as possible into this field while there is still time. While it might be risky to put your money into something like Bitcoin, which is highly volatile in nature, it still pays off with some short-term investments.

This would allow you to escape the upcoming market crash and even make some profit in the long run. If you think this is impossible, then you should remember that crypto started with a value of less than $0 and within just two years it grew to over $11 billion – so who knows what will happen next? Conclusion

In the end, no one can really say what will happen with cryptos in the future – maybe they'll grow bigger and bigger or maybe they'll crash again. But all we know for sure is that it pays off to invest in this field while it's still relatively unknown.
