Due to the explosion both in the popularity of online gambling sites, and the advancements in technology, I have seen growth in the iGaming sector that I have never seen before. Every week, there seems to be a new PayPal casino or sportsbook trying to get their piece of what is becoming an extremely lucrative pie.

Although the online realm of gaming has been popular in some countries, such as the UK as a whole, other countries around the world, particularly in Europe, are relaxing their legislation so that their economies can benefit from the demand of those who like to play at a gambling platform online. I’m going to today run through what the landscape looks like when it comes to the stocks of iGaming.

Getting to know the sector

There are also many resources out there that can help people like me not just understand what options are out there when it comes to online operators but also to help them understand common betting strategies, whether it’s at a sportsbook or gambling site. If I take Leonard Sosa, for example, he is world-renowned for his advice on utilising bonuses and strategies online. He is famed for his close examination and analysis of terms and conditions in order to use them to his advantage. And so, now that I know the support that’s out there, I’m going to have a look at the landscape of the stocks when it comes to the iGaming industry.

How big is the industry?

Well, to put the industry into numbers, the amount being bet on sports alone was in excess of $137 billion in 2023 and this is without any of the online gambling sites being taken into account. Now, if you look at the growth of the iGaming niche in particular, it underwent a growth of 22.7% just in that year alone in the United States.

It’s this explosive growth that has led to considerable investment in some of the big players within the industry. Especially for those that are based in countries with a robust regulation process in place, ensuring minimal change to the legislation surrounding iGaming and also less turbulence when it comes to the stability of the stock.

Who are the big players?

So now I’m going to have a look at some of the big players in the arena at the moment. First up, you have NetEnt. This innovative digital giant hails from Sweden and is probably best known for producing some of the most innovative and immersive big-name online slot games that are currently on the market.

A few years ago, they were also acquired by a fellow giant in the industry by the name of Evolution Gaming. Merging the skillsets of the two, establishing a true powerhouse. Evolution themselves are known for being the leader when it comes to the live casino offerings by all of the top brands.

Other notable mentions

A few more that are worth mentioning in the industry are those of Microgaming and Playtech. Firstly, Microgaming is another household name when it comes to the top online gaming offerings. They have probably the widest and most extensive portfolio of all of the top providers when it comes to online slots in particular.

They have a continual focus on innovation, meaning that they have kept up with all changes in the industry thus far. And at PlayTech, the key to their success is diversification. They don’t put all of their eggs in one basket but instead spread them out amongst industries, including sports betting, of course, live casinos, and even financial trading services.

Other developers you may have heard of (I definitely have) that we have mentioned so far include:-

  • Play N Go
  • Red Tiger Gaming Limited
  • Blueprint Gaming Limited
  • Novomatic
  • Konami
  • Realtime Gaming

Is now the time to invest?

This isn’t something I’m going to recommend, but as with any proposition, knowledge is key, so you’re going to want to understand as much as you possibly can prior to making any decisions. This would be my best advice to you. The industry is no doubt going to continue to grow over the coming years, possibly not at the rate we’ve seen over the last 2 to 3 years but it will continue to grow so the real challenge lies in finding out where exactly to invest within this growth in order to make the most of your investment and the biggest return.

The purpose of this article today was not to provide you with advice so that you know whether or not to invest your savings in shares or stocks of one of these companies that we have mentioned; it was instead to provide you with a bit more of a clearer and more detailed insight into how the industry is fairing at the moment. And hopefully, my explanation today has achieved this for you

How it is growing as a sector and what exactly is pushing this growth. Another area of iGaming that is still heavily in its infancy but will start to grow hugely over the coming years is crypto. This revolves around gambling sites being able to facilitate and offer people the chance to deposit with and play with cryptocurrencies instead of standard currencies.
