It's funny how often good business practices go hand in hand. And strangely enough, many of those same strategies also keep your customers loyal and your staff involved. While bringing new life into your business team and new customers into your store is super important, it's important to really look after the ones that you already have. We've pulled together some tips on how to make sure that you're doing the best for everyone involved in your business so that they will do their best for you.
Bonuses For Everyone
Everybody loves a bonus

A mistake that many companies make is only offering their most generous bonuses and offers to new customers. While this is certainly a good way to get people interested in your business, it can leave a sour taste in the mouths of your most loyal clients. Instead of offering your bonuses only to new customers, consider creating some incentives, especially for those who’ve been with you the longest. A good example of companies putting this plan into action can be found within the iGaming industry. Asiabet has created a whole list of the best casinos available in India. This includes an overview of each operator’s services and welcome bonuses; explaining the bonuses offered, such as the popular welcome bonuses; how the site stacks up against others; and lots more. For those who don’t know, a casino welcome bonus is just a sign-up bonus for new players, but aside from these, they have many other types of bonuses offered and explained. You could implement this in a similar way by including links to members-only sales in your email marketing or exclusive codes for people to use on their birthdays. Not only does this reward loyalty, but it also shows that you care for each of your customers personally.
When it comes to bonuses for employees, it's often those who've been there the longest who receive the most generous bonuses. It makes sense to reward loyalty and hard work, but it can also alienate new employees. If you're hiring just before Christmas for example and might not be able to afford to give new employees bonuses, consider if you could wait to hire until after the holiday season. Giving everybody in the office a bonus except new employees can be alienating and demoralizing, two things you don't want to do to your promising new hire.
Introducing Referral Schemes
Many business owners have one or two employees that they would cheerfully clone for a whole year's profits. Some people just get your business inside out and you would do anything you could to have more of them. Although you're not going to get direct clones, introducing a referral scheme might encourage those golden employees to recommend some people who are similarly driven. Referral schemes should reward current employees for introducing valuable new personnel to the team. You could incentivize your current team with days off, cash bonuses, or a boost to their pension pot for every employee that they personally recommend. Hiring in this way tends to be really beneficial for the business as every person you welcome to the team wants to do well not just for the business but because of the reputation of their friend too.
Referral schemes also work brilliantly for customers too. If you're struggling to attract new customers through your website or your physical location then getting the people who already love your business to bring you them is a genius idea. Referral schemes for customers can work in all kinds of different ways and the best way to find what will work for your business is to look at other companies and what they're doing. One of the referral schemes that are the most widely used is for gyms, clubs, and leisure centers, where people are paying for services rather than goods. In these schemes, often customers are allowed to bring along a friend once per week, or per month. They'll bring their friend with the idea that the friend will enjoy the services so much that they will want to join. Once the friend joins, the existing customer gets a month's free services, a free personal training session, or another bonus that would mean a lot to them. Your referral scheme might work differently, but for service-based businesses, this is a tried and tested method that works well.
