With Bitcoin’s (BITCOMP) value stumbling, how vulnerable is the cryptocurrency casino industry from total collapse?

The online casino world is regularly changing. From the introduction of MegaWays games to the widespread availability of Cluster Pays slots, there is always something new causing a stir. From live casino games and mobile gaming to being able to play live casino games on mobile phones and tablets, there is always appeal. Cryptocurrency casinos are the latest craze to enjoy. Do cryptocurrencies casinos come with more risk than those other innovations, though? As it happens, they just might. Let’s see why.
The Recent Dip in Fortune
It is no surprise to learn that recently, Bitcoin suffered a bit of a drop in its value. Cryptocurrencies are volatile by nature. However, the sudden drop caused many to worry if the bubble had burst. When Bitcoin loses such an immense amount of value, its desirability isn’t so hot. An influx of selling reduces its value even further. Anything associated with a declining Bitcoin would suffer greatly, including cryptocurrency casinos. While the drop in BTC bit hard, the drop seems to have stabilised for the time being.
How Have Other Cryptocurrencies Fared?
By and large, most other cryptocurrencies also dropped a touch in their value, although few bombed quite like Bitcoin did. Given the surplus of online casinos that accept BTC (there are more than those that accept other cryptocurrencies), it is Bitcoin’s drop in value that tends to have investors and gamblers alike worried the most.
Not So Rosy for FIAT Currencies Either
While the drop in BTC’s value always spells trouble for the cryptocurrency gambling industry, it is not as if FIAT currencies have had a whale of a time, either. An economic recession in part caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and a surge in inflation across the globe has hit FIAT currencies hard. They, too, are suffering, and with people having less to spend, the gambling industry is just as at risk from inflation as it is from cryptocurrency bubbles bursting.
Will the Online Casino Industry Collapse?
Not at all. Despite inflation, there has been a massive surge of players since the COVID-19 pandemic began. With the closure of many casinos, players flocked online. Many are reported to have found it more convenient, and polls have shown that not everyone wants to return to land-based venues. If we took out a chunk of those who did and diminished the numbers because of inflation, the total number of bettors would still linger around pre-Covid levels. Moreover, many new markets (such as the US) are introducing millions of new bettors to the industry. The online casino industry is arguably healthier than ever before and in no danger of collapse.
The Fate of Cryptocurrency Gambling
The same cannot quite be said of the cryptocurrency gambling industry. That industry is directly tied to the success (or failure) of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. However, there is something we must stress – this isn’t new. It has always been the case. Crypto casinos will also be riskier to play at than FIAT sites. However, if you still fancy betting with BTC, there is a solution: opt to play at top casinos that accept both cryptocurrencies and FIAT options. This way, you’ll still be able to play whatever the weather.
